How Long Does It Take To Start Making Money On Helium?

I know this is just probably me being impatient since I've been known to actually say things out loud like "hurry up already" to the microwave:), but I keep reading about people making money from their writing on the web site Helium.
It looks like a great site and I've been on there about a month or a little more, not long I know. I have 25 articles posted and have 2 writing stars and 4 rating stars now, plus my articles are ranked fairly high. A few are in the middle of rankings, but most are on up there with rankings. 5 of my articles are even ranked #1 in their categories today (1 out of 26 articles, 1 out of 94 articles, 1 out of 23 articles, 1 out of 19 articles, and #1 out of 32 articles). Yet, I don't seem to be getting more than like a penny per day for all these articles right now.
A couple of writers suggested this site to me, so I'm guessing somehow it does start paying out eventually. Can someone give me some idea of when they first started getting paid regularly by this web site? Last month (I didn't have as many articles posted) when I started, I had $10 posted to my account, within 10 minutes that went down to $5. I think, though, they had some kind of mix-up with their pay then due to computer glitch. I'd like to know when to start looking for a payout here since I'm not really sure when that will start. Obviously, there will have to be a lot more articles posted, but I don't really understand how their pay scale works..other than the marketplace fees posted if your piece gets selected there. I'm wondering, though, how long it is before just the regular articles posted on the site start to pay. Thanks for any information.

you need to rack up some writing stars before you can earn from it,this means writing quality articles.

Thanks for your response. I've been on there about a month and already have 2 writing stars, plus 5 (6 today I think) articles that are ranked #1 in the different categories (one today is #1 of 198 articles in one of those categories) so I'm guessing my presenting quality writing is not really a problem right now. I have just been confused about how they pay, but all of you sending these nice responses has helped explain a lot of it. Thanks again.

I have signed up there but I know very little about it. Let me give my opinion on freelancing. It will not happen over night, you must work at it and baby it as you would a child. This is what I do I write online for many sites and I am still learning everyday. Keywords are also something you might want to look up because this is so imporant when writing online.
Hope this helps and good luck with writing online. I love it and will not stop for sure. Thanks happy mylotting :)

Thank you. That idea about keywords is a very good one. I'll keep that in mind. Have a nice holiday and thanks for your response.

You have to write at least 50 Articles, which will make You a minimum of 25$ payout, and then You will get the first money out of this website. Unless it is another scam...

Hi, Yeah, you never know with web sites but the writers who told me about this all write for it and seem to think it's pretty reputable. Their support system thus far has been pretty good, too, although I never did get an answer about the pay, but they get tons of e-mail so it might have just got lost in the mass of communication.
I'm thinking they're not really a scam since they've been around for about 2 years and a lot of people seem to like them. Here's hoping anyway. Thanks for your response.
