I was in a bus sitting peacefully when I heard and advertising a music show which said that you could pay three hundred dollar before eight but anytime after that an additional $200 would be added. The thing that puzzled me the most was what could have caused the show get more expensive with time and didnt they still have th same lineup of artistes ?
Have you ever heard anything like that ,do you think is is legal ? and would you go to such a show ?
Please explain this to me .

Don't know that I can explain it to you, but they do it here all the time!!! Restaurants do it also. A local buffet charges $2.00 more after 4:00 pm Yet they don't add anything different to the buffet bar. The nicer restaurants charge $5.00 more after 6:00 pm yet all they do is bring out different menus with the same items & just different prices on it!!! I went to one place where the prices changed at 4:00. I sat down to eat at 3:00. I'm a slow eater & didn't finish eating until 4:15. They charged me the after 4:00 price. I argued that I had arrived at 3:00 & ate their before 4:00 food, but they wouldn't budge. I paid them the after 4:00 price but I can promise you I'll NEVER eat there again & I tell ALL my friends to never eat there!!! They're not going out of business from losing my business, but it will cost them MORE than the extra I paid that day in lost business!!! The other one I don't understand is there is a show on Saturday. If I buy my ticket by Wednesday it is one price. If I buy my ticket at the door it's $25.00 higher. I don't always know on Wednesday what I'll be able to do on Saturday!!!

It all comes down to supply and demand. Businesses charge more for things at different times because there is more demand at that time. By charging more at the demanded time, it not only helps the company to make more money but also it cuts back on the demand so that the business is not overwhelmed.
There are many many places that do business like this. Movie theaters charge $2 more for movies after 6pm. Buffets charge more for dinner rather than lunch and charge more on Sundays. Even cell phone companies operate this way by offering free nights & weekends but charging minutes for the daytime week-day calls. There is nothing illegal about this practice.
As far as advanced purchase ticket prices being cheaper than at the door, the venue always wants to try to judge how full the place will be in advance. By offering cheaper tickets, people will buy ahead of time and allow the coordinators to setup and adjust things as needed. If the show only sells 3 tickets in advance, that gives them an idea that either their prices are too high or nobody is interested in the show, so they can either lower prices or cancel the show entirely.
It all comes down to a business standpoint. I hope that cleared up a few things for you.

well after 8 time is basically the prime time when people get out of there work places and want some entertainment so if you want it gota pay more for it and before 8 is a time when these shows are happy just making enough money on less profit terms but after 8 is there time and they wana reap as much money as they can as they this is the time they can charge anything they like and people will definately go for it!!!!
