Just like the real world, the internet presents a lot of opportunities and sadly also so many scams. In fact, for every good opportunity there is probably another 999 which are all but crooked ways to cheat money or effort out of us. From a friend, here are some guides to follow. 1. You won't get rich by next Thursday. If someone tells you otherwise, they're lying. 2. You can't double your money every week. If Warren Buffet and Bill Gates can't, neither can you! 3. Nobody's going to flood your PayPal account with money while you sleep. You know that, right?) 4. The "gurus" don't care about you... they just want your money. Sorry, but it's true 5. "Get three who get three who get three" doesn't happen. They just tell you that because it sounds so easy. 7. People will lie to you to get you to send them money. Not just some people... MOST people! 8. When honest people deal with dishonest people, the dishonest people ALWAYS WIN! That's why you've been losing all this time! I hope this helps to all of us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

You've covered a lot of good things and so I would like to add a few, too: There is no online lottery that drew your email address randomly so you did not win millions of dollars. There are no wealthy people in Nigeria trying to get trunks full of money or gold out of the country. There are no wealthy people on their deathbeds willing to give their fortune to you. Any online job that requires you to deposit checks or money orders into your bank account and then send a percentage by moneygram or western union to them is a scam which your bank will soon discover and you will be responsible for repaying the money to the bank. There are no orphan refugees with millions in safe keeping who will meet with you after you sign the papers the barrister has...and pay his fee...and give you half. If something sounds too good to be true....IT IS!

You know...I've always wondered. Why is it always Nigeria? And you forgot one. If you get an email from ebay or amazon or paypal or any bank and it says they are updating their system so you need to go to a link and type in your account information, DON'T!

You are totally right there. Even the ones that do pay you are sometimes full of crap. Like for instance, i did the surveys that said they are like 5 minutes long and you get paid a buck. That was BS, i'd do a survey and it would take like 45 minutes if you actually read the questions and then you'd still only get a $1.00. Now is that seriously worth 45 minutes. I don't think so. You just have to ween through them and find one that you like.

This and the comments that follow is the best buyer beware list I have ever seen. I have been trying to find some legitimate way to just make a living, not a killing, online because it's getting harder and harder for me to do regular work. Most of the things I've looked at have been so outrageous that I wondered if anyone was stupid enough to fall for them. And others cost money I didn't have and I was pretty sure they wouldn't work anyway. I have never been tempted to try the ones where you are supposed to sell a system that taught others how to sell a system that taught...you get my drift? Having found mylot I am beginning to see where there might be some things that might bring a little money but will require time and effort. I don't have a problem with that because I have never expected life to be handed to me without working for it.
