Is necessary that men's income must more women's

I and my girlfriend are in the same company, we have the same income, this is our first job. When we come home, my mother and her mother ask the question, which of you incom is higher.Is necessary that men's income must more women't. what's your opinion? and whose income is higher,men or women?

In my opinion, if the family want to run smothly,
the men's income should more than the women's.

It is not necessary but desirable that men make more money than women. Not for women but for men themselves :) There are many ambitious women out there but I think men always expect to get more and, as to ambitious men, it hurts their feelings if a woman makes more money. Does not apply to everyone but a certain type of people-I knew a guy who almost had a fit when told that his wife might've become his boss. He thought it was depriving him of his manhood.
I don't really care,as long as we are able to support ourselves and have a little extra to live the good life.

Hi Shine :) It is not necessary men's income should be higher that women's, but it is much better IF the men's income higher. Because, its a tradition. Because, income will reflect the title or stage where we are. It can be also reflect to our education. But, not everyone will judge people on their income. I'm myself, doesn't really care about the income who's higher than whom, if its for a couple in love its good for sharing to build the future. So, don't be so worry.. Just don't lower yourself..
