I agree with evoli that it depends on ourself. Okay, to say it in general let's take a look at the points I am given to you. 1) 1 hour rule. Our brain can focus at its maximum performance not more than 1 hour. After 1 hour, it is recomended to take a rest about 15 minutes. Or else, change the subject you are studyin. Let say you are doing Math's practice, after 1 hour change to History subject, or take about 15 minutes of rest. 2) Brain food. Brain food is vital in order to keep our brain at the best performance. There are many brain food out there but the common one is banana, fish and milk. Besides, it is easy to get. 3) Sleep/Rest. (Physically) Sleeping well is another factor. Some people need 4 hours sleep a day, but some need more, while others need less. Sleeping well will ensure that our body can genereate enough energy for us to study. Plus, it will enhance brain's performance. 4) Rest. (Mentally) Not only our body, our brain itself needs rest. What I mean is, getting the brain do something else. Our brain is a complex thing, we can't do the same thing everyday or we will become retarted, sort of speak. Studying everyday will not help. So, try playing computer games, so that the brain's part for studying get to rest, while other part become activated. 5) Exercise. Everyone need exercise to make sure that our body's part are working well. We don't have to be like body builder, but simple exercise like jogging, and playing football (soccer) will help in letting us fit. Thus, our body will work well leading to high performance of brain. Have a nice day! :)

Great tips! I didn't know about the 'brain food', so thanks for sharing :-) I forget to mention that I always make sure I eat healthy, and I like something to nibble on while studying, usually nuts (hasel, almond, cashew) or a carrot or a cookie or fruit or... The sleep and rest is indeed vital, though sometimes I really don't have the time to work out!

hi, kingmax24 yes, it really depends on the person. my suggestion is that try those tips given to you one by one and then find what suits you. me, i am a little weird because, when i study, i gotta have a tv infront of me. i do not watch it really, i just glance at it every now and then. i just need the tv as a sort of, um, company. so that i do not get bored. another thing i find useful is coffee. it is a stimulant for me. but, as they say, too much of anything is not good for you. good lighting is also important too to avoid eye strain. have a nice day!

The first and foremost thing that you need to do is that you convince yourself that the topic you are going to study is very interesting and that you like it/. That is why it would be better to concentrate on subjects where you have apttitude for , once you get into higher studies. But when you are in the school level, you are not lkely to be given any choices . So, you will be forced to study all the subjects. Make sure that whatever subject you are going to study, the concept is clear.Only then you will remember it.Then you can keep a notebook by your side and jot down subheadings and also points while you study. If it isMath, you obviously have to keep working out the sums and there is no other short cut for this and you need to do it when you a re wide awake. In Math, work out a number of sums in the same chapter at one time so that practice will add to the conceptual clarity. Basically, as I said earlier, you must face the inevitable fact that these lessons have to be studied whether you like them or not and start preparing them from early on.if If you are a last minute learner, which would have its natural disadvantages ,[ however bright and quick you are in the uptake], then just pray that whatever you have concentrated on in the last minute for intense study , is seen on the question paper. Apart from all these lectures , the fact that you are not faced with an intenesely boring task[convince yourself] would do the best magic.[light and coffee are all secondary.] All the Best!

Here are some other study rules to add to the ones you've already received. Your brain takes in information in a variety of ways...by reading, writing, listening and doing. When you study you should make use of all four styles. It will make it less boring and will help get the information into your permanent memory. Try reading out loud. Tape lectures so you can listen later. Take notes in class and reorganize them when you are at home. The taped lecture can help with this. Take notes from your textbook and organize them differently than the information was organized in the book. Practice any new skill that you're learning. Get up and walk around while reading, either to yourself or out loud. Use flash cards...as lame as they sound...for two reasons. The act of creating them helps you to absorb the material and, once you know something on a card, you can put it away and won't waste your time going over something you already know.

One good way of studying effectively is to get rid of all distractions. A little soft music on the background will help you relax. And no TV at all. And yes too much light can have an effect on you so choose the best light source you could have. A table lamp could do just the job. So as not to put too much strain in your eyes. And lastly, don't just read the book. Study! you know what i mean. lolz :)

I dont think coffee helps, to me it shrouds my mind in darkness like a veil. I usually study in the night/early morning which is from 10p.m.~3p.m. I do not sleep that much only about 6 hrs or maybe even less. WHen i study , i have to focus or otherwise i just lose track. When i get sleepy, i walk outside my house in the cold weather until i wake up. I think listening to music won't help you that much but will be a bothersome burden to you. I study with a goal/achievement in my mind and that motivates me.

hello kingmax24, The best way to study effectively depends on the style of a person. Some are watching tv or listening over the radio while studying in order that they will not fall asleep. Others like to be question. Some likes to be alone and quite to concentrate more. But as for me, I'd rather sleep early and wake up as early as 2 o'clock in the morning to study. This way, I can absorve and study better. If I am studying I like it to be quite.

i study better as a group outside. i have no idea why, but i guess it's my motivation. i can't seem to get started at home. if i'm home alone, i'd tend to find some excuse to not study. say, i'm hungry or i'm tired or i'm sleepy... blah blah blah and the list goes on... at times, my study group would head down to starbucks to have coffee but it makes no difference to me, so i can't really say it WILL help enhance your memory. one drink i know helps me is RED BULL! it's like a MUST drink during the exam period. my friends and i would normally stock up our red bulls!

A good strategy is that after you study on night, don't go directly to bed, instead, take a nap or something that distracts your mind for, say 10 minutes, and then you go. This lets your brain process the information wich has already entered into conciousness, so that the "package" can be prepared correctly for when you sleep. Like when you defragment the PC. Another good way of studying is doing associations, in chain one after the other. Plus, if every 7 minutes (What it takes to a person studying to get bored) you motivate yourself about it, probably you'll remember a lot more than if you weren't doing so!

Dont study all night, reserve your energy for the next day, you can study early in the morning, just wake up around 4am until morning comes up then go to school and you won't forget what you've been study from that day...

it depends on your interest. If you have to study lot and you decided to study all right away, then the lights and coffee are of little importance. The mind set up will do.But I like to tell you,if you are concentrating in your class room and doing your regular studies, then you need not study with much struggle.Cheers!

The best way to study depends on the person. I myself am more of an evening-student, night even. That time of the day I'm best concentrated. Mind, I make sure I have enough sleep of course, I usually work until 1-2 o'clock, and sleep untill 9-10 in the morning. It's important you know what time of the day you're most productive, I know I can work okay in the morning, between 2 and 4 in the afternoon is a disaster, and evenings are best. So I do some easy stuff in the afternoon, keeping more difficult parts for the evening/morning. No bright lamps or other tricks, just make sure you get enough sleep! Same with coffee: it does keep you awake and more or less alert, so it can help if you feel sleepy, but only for a short while, and I don't believe it enhances your memory. I personally can't have lot's of cafein, I get all stresse and shaky of it lol. Good luck with studying!

hi all, the best way to study effectively is to enjoy what you are studying, Please bear in mind that you learning something new. And, the knowledge you gain would always make you stand out in the crowd. Since , knowledge is power and you become powerful by gaining immense knowledge you need to study. Always tell to yourself that you are becoming unique by learning something. Imagine yourself answering or responding first in a crowd and appreciated by everybody. I guess this trick would work wonders. cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
