Strictly speaking, a virus is a piece of executable code that can copy itself and infect other programs in a computer. I have had virus and been able to remov them quickly and easily, but when I got a trojan, nothing I did would remove it. My computer eventually crashed, the screen turned black and I got a message: "someone else is taking over your computer." It was very spooky. Since that, I got Norton Anti-virus to protect my computer and have no kind of problem.

with simple answer : Virus infect your system included files on it. Trojan : Open ports and Give access to someone else through tha opened Ports.

based on my experience... trojan is a lot damaging than any kind of virus and the most common type... what a small creation pretender!! i hate people who created this one.. i think trojan is also classified as virus.. its like a virus is a general term while the trojan is a more specific one...
