Do you believe that people from all over the world could belong to one dominating religion? If so, then what religion, to your mind, could take the lead?I know that you'll defend your own religion, but what would you say from realistic point of view?

Yes,there is no doubt that one day I S L A M will certainly dominate this world one day. This is not a mere hearsay but a solid prediction by our beloved Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)that Jesus(pbuh)will come again in this world before the Last Day to support Islam and Quran. He will break the cross(deny his crucification) and kill the pig(prohibit eating pork). He will convert Christians and other fortunate non-muslims to Islam and lead them in war against the Antichrist.Mass conversion to Islam will take place........

Hi, my dear friend.I don't know what happens with all these religions since I won't live long on this Earth, but I like one thing about you,Muslims - the way you protect your religion.
We can teach religion, but we can't change the human nature.People never were perfect, they never be perfect. Some of them are worse than animals.I never saw an animal killing for pleasure, but people do it.
And stealing, for example.Today my Christmas gift was stolen in local post.I'm so angry because it was sent by my friend.Someone dared to touch such a private thing of mine.Should I forgive that person?I can't.That person is an animal.Only a monkey could tear my package.I never did any harm to them and here's what I got in return.
So now I can say that the religion which would be able to control these instincts of these human animals should rule the world.

Every religion has people who practice the teachings.. and yet do bad things.. this religion will do more than steal your Christmas gift (which I am sorry that happened) they will behead you for having an opinion.. and God help you, if you are a woman or a child stuck in that religion!

The old order changeth yielding place to new. The religions of the old world have to necessarily metamorphose with the march of science and technology. What will happen will be people will increasingly throw out albeit reluctantly ,the ideas that directly contradict established scientific truths. Take the geocentric theory vs helocentric theory for instance. The geocentri theory hangs on even though the other theory has been establshed. Even ardent religionists wouldn't today claim that geocentricism has any meaning.
All the same I do not foresee a time when there would be no religion at all. By religion,I alway mean a set of practices that would possibly give a greater meaning to your life. Fredrick has talked of Agnosticism. Well that is also one kind of religion- denial of the knowablity of the world!Science places you face to face with reality but the exhilarating sense of enormity and wonderment that a mere belief in something beyond all your comprehension is too exciting to give up. There will be confluence of religions and sort of harmony. For that the only requisite is that the terrorists and other misguided souls don't put a sudden end to the world as we know it. If by His grace there is no invited and wanton destruction of the world, a new order would emerge call it religion if you will for it will be very humanistic to be put on the same platform as Science {Science and its achievements are IMO very dehumanizing] that will cross the borders of division of the present day religions.
There is some idea of it in Is Vedanta the Future Religion by Swami Vivekananda.

I agree that religions won't dissapear.Because we are human beings and we keep asking the questions about what we are, how was the world made, where we go from
here.
We can't deny the facts,we can deny the theories, though.
And I completely disagree with all the theories which make people sad, dissapointed, frustrated and traumatized.

Hi silver..I am not sure what religion would take over but do believe that some either religion or dominant figure will, which will probably put a lot of others beliefs to the test..littleowl

I am sure that in the coming days, science will dominate the world.
Religions will disappear.
Now it looks as if Chrisitanity is dominating the world, but if we compare today's christianity with the christianity of one hundred years ago, we can see that there are numerous agnostics in the christian countries. This is a very good sign and shows that the time when people acepted religion blindly has passed.

The Dark Ages was someting we went through and we don't want to see people choping heads again, but we still have to fight for better future. The more informed we are, the less we are fooled.

I don't think so. Because although all the religions have a common philosophy, different religions quench different people's thirst. If your dream is true then all the people must have similar thinking and similar rituals, which is practically impossible.

Yes,we live in different parts of the world with different climate, environment,we see different things around us and we have different conditions of life too.All these things form a society with specific needs, culture, lifestyle and beliefs.
You're right.
