Try to visit Davao City, the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental. There are very beautiful natural features in these areas. I live in Davao City (Mindanao, Philippines). It is classified as one of the most livable cities in Asia.

WELCOME ROSE! There are actually foreign nationals who operate beach resorts in Samal. You also will not feel homesick in Davao City and Samal. Both are cospolitan. And Davao City and Samal have excellent beaches that can also offer you the double treat of viewing Mt. Apo, the highest peak in the Philippines. The Canadian People also have a very long history of involvement with Davao City, Davao del Sur and parts of Davao del Norte, extending way back to the 1930s, pre-Second World War. The PME Fathers (I don't know French, but I think the abbreviation means Priests of Foreign Missions in English or something. Peres Mission Exterior? Please pardon my ignorance and perhaps my unintentional mangling of one of your official languages.) have had missionaries in these parts, although now they work only in Davao City. One of the former Mayors of Montreal (Mayor Tetreault?) had a brother who worked in the missions and taught at the Catholic Seminary here. The Mayor visited the seminary and Davao City in the second half of the 1960s. The first Bishop (later Archbishop) of the Catholic Archdiocese of Davao was Msgr. Clovis Thibault, a French Canadian. We have excellent communication systems here, so you can communicate from here to any point in Canada or the globe. Again, WELCOME!

Wow I didn't know our countries had such a connection! That is great to learn. Do a lot of people in Phillipines speak french at all? I'm from the other side of Canada so we don't know a lot about the history of montreal etc.

I am from England, and here in Britain we have lots of history. There are literally hundreds of old castles which are oozing with fantastic stories. We have lots of Roman and Viking connections so in some cities like York you are surrounded by wonderful sites, sounds and smells. In London you can see famous places like the Tower of London where the crown jewels are kept (yes you can actually see them), and see the places where many were beheaded and hanged. We also have Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives, along with her other palaces around the country. Then we also have lots of National Parks which are exceptionally beautiful. The Lake District, Peak District, Snowdonia, and all of Scotland are just breath-taking. Another added bonus is that we all speak English here, so no problem with the language! I hope you choose to come to England some time, I am sure that you will love it. :)

I can't wait to go to England! My family Background is English and Irish. I'm a very big fan of Shakespeare so I really want to go to Stratford-on-avon and to the Globe Theatre. I plan to go after my South America trip. I'm hoping I can go work in Ireland and then take some time to go work around Europe.

I'm not a very good irish woman because I can't stand the taste of Guinness. My mom loves the stuff though. lol I guess the English side of me has won out. WE have a theatre summer festival in Toronto that is very big. ITs mainly Shakespeare and called the Stratford festival. ITs kinda a take on the British one.

Ohhh that's great, you will feel a real connection then. We visited Stratford in September and saw The Merchant of Venice at the Courtyard Theatre. The atmosphere was just brilliant. And Stratford is such a lovely little town, it is so old and crooked, it is really filled with character. I have never been to Ireland, but it is on my list. I am a fan of Guinness and apparently it tastes even better when you actually drink it in Ireland. :)

Thats exciting! What part of South America are you planning to go to? I have not been to China before. The only place in Asia I have been is a small Island Ishigaki which is part of the Japanese Okinawan Islands. It sounds like there is great deal to see there. I would very much like to go to Beijing and see the Great Wall of China. What area of China are you from?

There are many places I would like to travel. I have been to Germany, France, Switerland and Mexico. If I had to choose one to go back to again I would choose Germany or Mexico. I loved both places just the same. I do plan on going back to both some day. Reason why I liked them so much?? I couldn't tell you, it was just great. :) I do know Germany is beautiful. I went to Isla Mujeres in Mexico (little island off Cancun) I guess I just like the cultur and the ocean and beaches were beautiful. Have fun travelling!

Well I know I landed in Frankfurt, but not sure what town I stayed in. I think it was about an hour away from Frankfurt. I was only 14 and at that time I wasn't interested in the name of the town I just thought it was all so pretty. I know I went and visited Hidleburg, that is where my mom was born.

you should come to the Philippines. if you like beaches, we have many including the world-famous Boracay. you can visit the Underground River in Palawan, the Mayon Volcano with its perfect cone in Albay, the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, The Tubbataha Reef which is a marine sanctuary, the Banawe Rice Terraces which is dubbed the 8th wonder of the world. There are so much to see in our 7,107 islands. And the people are very warm, hospitable, and they speak English! The Philippines is the 3rd largest English-speaking country in the world. So you don't have to worry about getting lost and no one can help you because the people don't speak the language.

I would loveyou to come to my country Rose. India is wonderful country evenn withthose terror attacks and much discussed exotics. I am sure you would love the place with varied topography, the Sea, icean, Himalayas, hills, deserts - its a place with its own essence. You would love the warmth and hospitality of the people. In my country, I would suggest you one place that standsout above the rest - it's my HOME, sweet home. I would love you to be my guest, anytime. That would be a trip worth remembering your lifetime.

Thank you. India does sound very lovely. I don't mind the terrorist attacks as such. Honestly, those hotels that the people were staying in are probably too rich for me. Bad stuff happens all the time all over the world. You just have to take it with a grain of salt. Maybe my mom and I can do a trip to India. I know she's always wanted to go.

Hi Monkeyrose, I am from Indonesia and I live in a very beautiful island: Bali. If you are planning to travel to Asia then include Bali on your list. Bali is a small island but you can have almost everything you need for a holiday. Beach, sun, river, mountain, lake, all are very beautiful. I enjoyed my life so much here. No rush, no stress (okay sometimes only) and off course a beautiful view. If you plan to travel here, I will suggest you to come between june - October which is the best times of the year when the sun is so bright and all the beaches here will be very nice and clear. Dont come during December - February it's the most heavy rainy season (I love rain...) I love to travel too.. but sometimes when I have no money for holiday, I'll just enjoy the part of the Island... Anyway I already feel like holiday everyday here..

I live in the United States, so there are TONS of places you could visit. More specifically, I live in Missouri. One place here that I would suggest is the St. Louis Arch. It is 600 feet tall and is in the shape of an arch. You can ride up an elevator to the top and look out the window to see the city. There are a lot of cool places outside of Missouri. I would suggest Niagara Falls. It's the most beautiful waterfall ever, and one of the largest. We went on a boat to the middle of the lake, and it was truly magnificent. I would also suggest New York City, if you plan on going to some big cities. We went there 2 years ago on the fourth of July, and we went out at night to do some sight-seeing, and the whole city was full of light. I would also suggest Miami, Florida. It has some really beautiful beaches. We went there a year ago to go on a cruise, and we stayed there for a day. It is pretty rainy there, but there were many palm trees and the climate is great. HAVE FUN!!!

Adding more nice spot from the Philippines, you can go to Dakak in Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte then slip for a while to Zamboanga City so you will be able to have some dives at Sta. Cruz Island known for its Pink sands. Have some Pearls at talugsangay.

I say that you should come to California. There are very nice places to visit and things to see. The weather is awesome and as long as you can stand the traffic, everything will be cool. There are a lot of people out here. Let's see, there is Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Knots Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Movieland Wax Museum, Hollywood Walk Of Fame. There are quite a few beaches and more than enough nice restaurants and everything else your heart may desire. All that I ask is that you don't fall. Please go home, there are way more people here than were born here and we are totally over-crowded, LOL.

That sounds wonderful! I like the fact that their are so many different cultures. I really enjoy meeting people from different cultures. Where I live we have a lot of immigrants. In fact we have a national policy of multi-culturalism. Most of my friends in high school were muslim. 2 were from Kenya, one's parent's were from Kenya but was Indian. Another friend's family was from Fiji... also Indian. Its fun to learn about different cultures.
