hi all!in my previous ultrasound sessions, the female doctors had been very nice and accommodating. and since they were females, they are also sensitive that i will be a new mother and quite excited with the bundle inside of me. but in the past, we failed to determine the gender of the baby. but last week, when i was hospitalized due to a kidney stone, i had to undergo KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder) ultrasound and also the pelvic ultrasound to determine the health of my baby. baby is fine, and then while the doctor was scanning, HE said, girl. in the midst of my excruciating pain, i blurted, "what?" he said, "there is a slit, so it's a girl."i momentarily forgot my pain and smiled at the thought of my little baby girl inside of me. just wished he could have made it more suspenseful or at least warned me that he was taking a scan of my baby so that i could have had my husband come in and see the baby. anyway, that was it. we learned the gender of the baby with no frills. and yes, we are having a baby girl!:-)

I hope that you're feeling better. When I had my first ultrasound they asked me permission to tell the gender of my baby because they're some people who do not want to know beforehand. I hope your doctor asked for permission because it seems he just blurted out without no thought to how you might feel. But anyway, congratulations and have a second ultrasound just to be sure even though they're not 100% accurate.

I am so sorry to hear of your pain Spoiled 311. I know that I paid much money to have a gender scan at 16 weeks pregnancy. The scanner said many things about my baby and then pointed out a body part, saying it is a boy. I was so disappointed because I was so hoping to have a girl. Congratulations on finding out you are having a baby girl. I had many ultrasounds at 36 weeks pregnancy and the scanner could see the gender very clearly.

hello spoiled311, So sorry to know that you have a kidney stone. Hope that you'll overcome it. But happy to know that you're having a baby girl this coming March. Though you found out without suspense as you say at least you know what to buy already and be ready for her coming. But, I guess ultrasound result is sometimes not one hundred percent right for I remember when I was still renting, my landlady undergone ultrasound and they were told that they will be having a baby boy for their first born child. So upon knowing it, they bought a lot of color blues for their baby because they was told it's a baby boy. Then when she gave birth to their first baby, it was a girl and not a boy. Nevertheless, they we're all thankful for my landlady and her baby were safe.
