Yeah I heard about that on Fox news on my lunch break. We're in the middle of a war right now so I don't think that was the best move for us right now but the Dems wanted him out Bush just didn't want to fire him. I'm not really too educated on who all these people are so I don't know who this guy is that's replacing him. Is he a Democrat?

I'm not sure either, I heard it on the news and Bush was going to speak as well about it. Odd timing!

Where did you hear he was stepping down? Just because he is one of the targets of a criminal investigation that is being brought before the German federal prosecutor (for the second time in two years) for war crimes. When all the war criminals have been tried and the Military commissions act has been repealed, maybe we will once again be able to count ourselves among civilized nations.

Just caught up on that news, it was not front page here (go figure) Considering who is going to replace him, there is no real improvement. I don't think Gates is included in the case for war crimes, but that does not mean he won't be in the future.
