As you know, life doesn't always turn the way that we want all the time. Maybe someone is being unreasonable, or maybe something is unfair. Thus, all any of us will get angry for reasons unless you are a saint. What are you supposed to do at the time? Smash something, keep quiet, talk with some people, eat, sleep or whatever? In a wulinwaizhuang (My Own Swordsman), a funny Chinese drama, someone told someone the secret to let it go. Well, here it comes! The world is that sweetness while I'm this testiness, which is not good, not good. Haha
Would you please tell me what do you do when you get angry?

I don't want to talk to my mom at the time. If she knows that I am angry, she will worry about me. Actually, it is not that terrible.

Meditate my dear. Freedom from illwill means freedom from anger. Anger is a burning in the mind, and when expressed causes great suffering to others as well. It is helpful to be able to recognize anger and to let go. Then the mind becomes light and easy, expressing it's natural loving kindness.

Well, thanks a lot for your kind response! Anger will never be a good thing. My mind is like this water, when it is agitated, it becomes difficult to see. But if I allow it to settle, the answer becomes clear!
Have a nice day!

When I get angry angry I realize that the other person wasn't the only one who made the mistake, I was also making the mistake, If I had just kept quite and walked away there would be no reason to carry on the fighting if the other person got what he wanted, and then the person comes around and chases after you(after some time) to say he/she is sorry. You don't feel bad cuz you know you made the right decision or mabye you'll fell mad when you figue=re out you should have fought to get what you wanted and not be considered a sissy, but still.

the only thing i dont like when i get angry is i become teary eyed. I'd like almost break down in tears in anger. i don't like that. i look like a weakling.
what i'd would like to do, but is not readily accessible , is to hop on a roller coaster and scream my lungs out.
but what happens is sometimes i lock myself in my room, sleep, or watch a movie or browse the internet. like now, i'm angry, i'm on mylot.
it is best to let it go, but ofcourse we're only human, anger sometimes stays a little bit longer than we would like.

Of course, it depends on who or what made me mad. I've been know to hit or cry, or both, but have learned the hard way that neither solves anything. I rarely get mad anymore, but when I do, I go for a walk until I cool off.

Usually, I keep quiet and walk away. If it offends me a lot, I will speak very loudly and quickly to the one who offends me and even have a quarrel. It's not good .But that's the least I can do.

Yeah, most of the time, a quarrel may make something even worse. All any of us should find a better way to deal with it.

If I got angry, I would just keep quiet. It is no use fighting or arguing with anybody because it only flares up the issue and then there will be a great battle. And I do not like wars.
But there are extreme situation in which a fight is necessary. During those times, a fihgt is absolutely nevessary.

Well most of the times when i'm angry i just have to leave the place or person that makes me angry just to subside the emotion. I go the room and stay for a while in which makes me cool of or talk too friends and try to forget what makes me angry or a good scream just to get that hard emotion out of my chest.

hello hiddenwing,
I must admit that I have a bad temper that when I am so angry I am hurting anybody even my wife and my children. I did it once to my wife and that was the biggest mistake that I've ever done to her. I was able to hurt our eldest son too.
And because of these, when I am so angry with something I'd rather go away in order not to hurt anyone anymore. Or sometimes I just cry to release my anger. On the other hand, I'd rather be alone and keep quite.

Well, you have hit the nail on the head when you say that life doesn't always turn the way we want it to be. To be very frank, I behave in rather strange way when I am angry. When it is all over I think about it and I think that I was not me but some one else. I smash things and jump and go out running.

When I get angry and when I know my anger can do a lot of harm- like when my anger is on my boss whose response to my ourburst(if it happens) could be to mar my career for luckily in my job situation I cannot be fired from job, but can only be transfered to a remote location, or put in a area of least importance t the company so that I can think that I will retire where I am, I just forget my anger.
I do not know whwther this is cultivated or natural, I can see my anger rising and I can let it blow right off the top or I can consciously "cool" it off!
People suggest things like count to TEN. I take deep breaths if I am certain I don't want to express the angr. There are places I feel not showing the anger would be more detrimental than showing it. Then I blow my top in a controlled way.
In fact these days the only person who is able to anger me to the extent of blowing my top is only my wife. Now you could call this as my taking liberty of or claiming my right to be angry. But one thing is certain. It is only my wife's utterances or actions that create the greatest anger in me at 90% of the time. And to be true to myself I find every other source of anger is manageable.
As for you r question on anger mangement is concerned: Taking deep breaths helps. Moving from the scene that creates anger is another good strategy if you can afford it or if it is socially appropriate to do. In socially inappropriate situations i.e. it is the boss who is showing his displeasure on you rightly or wrongly, and your leaving tantamounts to insubordination or any other type of indiscipline you have to "switch off" mentally but "look as if you are all ears and concerned" about the firing and just get the message and do the right thing later.
But remember legitimate anger must be expressed, if not in the form of an outburst in the form of a firm statement.
In sum anger is not unmanageable is my conviction, but not at all expressing it ever is NEVER the solution. It wlll harm you if you suppress anger. So, once ina way please give vent to it.

Hey Hiddenwing. Merry Christmas, but I'll let you in on what I do when I get angry. First of all, it takes a lot to anger me. You have to go out of your way to do something messed up to me or say something messed up to me. But whenever I get angry, it matters if you insulted me or my family. If you did, I get violent. Otherwise, I am cool as a cucumber in the fourth of July. I just let things go extremely easy. I don't really have a real method.
