It's not corny at all, maybe cheesy, but not corny...
No, seriously, I'm a big, big fan of J.R.R. Tolken - and a big fan of many of the characters. I completely relate to Aragon; the personality and story behind his character really echoes in my life.
I'm sure many people named children after characters in this story - it's not the first time fiction has had huge cultural effects.

yes, she did look very "elfish" and otherwordly in this movie. She was very right for the part.
Arwen is a very unique name and people may be able to figure it out today when the movie is still fresh in everybody's mind but I bet a few years down the line people will be asking your daughter how she got that name and it would make for a very interesting story.
I think she will be happy with the name Arwen. Cheers!

Yes,she did. She is pretty but her face type is different from regular beauty standards, quite longish and all. Elf was a perfect fit.
Arwen is a beautiful name and you did a good job. I'm not a big gan of celebrity gossip but it seems like celebrities have gone wild these days. They name their kids whatever they want and seem to think their money or fame would protect poor kids from being made fun of. Apple,Broklyn and so forth are fine but what about Bronx Mowgli or Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline? I'm not trying to deprive people of their freedom of speech or any sort but please have some common sense!
