Well all told last week I got a foot of snow total in my area. I loved it but the removal is a hard demanding task. But it is done. Now we are expecting another 2 to 4 inches tonight and tomorrow and my snowblower has siezed up on me. I love this shot. It was taken at dark and the flash really makes the snowflakes near the camera appear huge. This is my backyard. The firepit is aboput 14 inches tall and it is nearly buried. Got to dig that out and maybe have a bonfire Christmas Eve. Got snow? Do you have bonfires in the snow?

Hello GB. We got about a foot of the lovely white stuff too. I had to work this past weekend and let me tell you it was no picnic to drive on the roads. The road crews were busy trying to keep up with the snow, but it wasn't enough. I drove very slowly.

That really is a nice photograph and you really have a big backyard. Wonder how it would look when the sun is shining down on it. Oh my, Wouldn't it look spectacular? We do not have snow where we live here in India, but I have seen snow and felt it and it feels great, well at least it feels great because it's only once in a long time for me.
As far as bonfires are concerned, we usually have it in cold when the temperatures drop to less than 10 C. It's fun too..

Well iot seems I won't be having a bnonfire. It's going to be another frigid night with below zero temps again. Another day this wintert it will happen. It is now nearly 3 a.m. and I just shoveled another 2 inches and it's still falling heavily.
I love it and it is so peaceful and quiet out there right now this early.

That's a lot of snow, at least in relation to what I usually get here. I am the kind of person who loves snow, but does not have such warm feelings for the cold. I have never had a bonfire in the snow, but it sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately a bonfire here would result in friendly visit from the local firefighters.

Hey, I heard about you guys in the States! All the Northern states are supposed to be suffering with extreme icy conditions and the snow just keeps on coming. I wish we could get some snow like that over here! It's always wet in London and we never seem to get any snow; you would think we could at least get some for Christmas Day! Anyway, I hope you pull through this and also that better conditions are on the way. Happy Christmas. Andrew

We don't have as much snow. We got several inches of ice with the last storm. We also have the bone chillin cold and high winds. I woke up this morning with a houseful of frozen pipes. Thankfully I just got the pipes thawed out a fe minutes ago. That is except for the cold water at the kitchen sink. I at least have hot water and water to the rest of the house. Isn't winter in our neck of the woods just grand. Good luck with the snow blower, I want one of those. I have to do all mine by hand. No driveway though, I have to park on the street, then when the plow comes thru, they bury the car. Joy, Joy.

Quick! Forward that photo to those 'scientists' who believe we are in global warming. We do not have a fire pit and if we did, we would get a notice from the city that does not allow trash fires and besides it would be buried it in the snow. Yesterday after church, I was shoveling the snow off our sidewalk, and it was almost knee dip at some places. We were looking at the price of snow blowers and they cost about $400 at the cheapest where we live, so I guess it is back to the shovel again if it snows tomorrow.

No, we don't have bonfires in the snow and since all we have is extreme cold and no snow, we may not try it either..If I had a choice between snow with temps in the upper 20's and very cold temps, I want the snow...My toes are about frozen and it seems like the heater is struggling keeping it warm in here..:(

Oh but a bonfire in a snowy filled area is such a beautiful sight though.
If I do this the 24th I'll have photos and a discussion about it soon there after you can be sure. I love seeing the heat and flame in the snow covered yard.

You have done a lot of work clearing the snow this year GrandpaBob and it seems like you got a lot more to do. The weather here is just cold. It was nice and warm a couple of days and all of a sudden it got cold the highest today is expected to be 37 degrees. By Christmas day it will be cack up in the 50's. Happy Snow Blowing.

It got really cold last night. The coldest so far actually.
The winds are dying down and 20's for nearly all week starting Tuesday.
Woo Hooo! A heat wave here in Minnesota.

What a fasntastic photograph. I have never ever seen one so good as this of snow. I loved looking at the snow too. I like looking at snow but I don't want to be there in the cold. I don't do cold anymore - awful memoties of always being cold as a child. Clutching my hot water bottle and trying to sneak the dog in the bedroom to sleep on my cold feet.
I've never seen a bonfire in the snow. If you are not kidding me and really do this then I would love to see some photos of that too. Blessings

Thank you very much.
Here's a shot of my garage with the lighhts all aglow as well taken at the same time. I love the lights glowing on the snow as in this shot. I will post photos of course when I have the snowy bonfire.

We don't have bonfires in the snow. It's too cold. The temperature has been around the low teens and upper single digits here in Missouri, which is really cold for us. I have a friend that lives in Minnesota, which is where I used to live, and she says that there is currently 2 feet of snow on the ground. We might have an icy Christmas, because it's supposed to ice on Christmas Day.

Too cold?
That's the purpose of a fire is to keep warm.
I have maybe 18 inches so far on the ground for the most part.

My friend Grandpa Bob I am so glad that I do not live in the snow. I did when we lived near Yosemite National Park and it gets old after a while. I do think it is beautiful but tiresome.

Thats a great shot, but I don't envy you, you can keep all that snow up there where your at...lol. I don't like winter time, its too cold, and I don't like the snow, I can put up with it for a couple days, but after that I'm ready for it to melt...lol. It makes travel hard, because I can't drive in it, and that means I'm stuck in the house all day..ha. Well the bonfire sounds good, I would hang around the fire to keep warm. No we haven't gotten any snow yet, we don't get much if we do, but its cold....Have a good day

This year Christmas under heavy snow in Vancouver. This is a very rare situation! I was so crazy and shoot a lot of photos. I look forward to heavy snow in the past under the Christmas. But every year I have the desire to nothing! What is Grandpa Bob's life? Why Grandpa Bob every day on the Internet?

I never had a bonfire in the snow. Several days ago, here in my hometown, there was a snow, I thouht it was a heavy snow, but it was not, my plan, which made a snowman was not come true. Hoping the next snow will be heavy enough for me to make a snowman.
