This has been a topic that men thought they had the answer too since the begining of time (or at least since the automobiile
)
Well I hate to break your hearts men, but the research has been conducted. The data has been gathered...

In a recent study released by Quality Planning, an analytics company that validates policyholder information for auto insurers, women came out on top (sorry guys).[/i]
Violations for which men scored at least 50 percent higher than women:
TYPE OF VIOLATION RATIO M:F
[b]Reckless driving 3.41
DUI 3.09
Seatbelt violations 3.08
Speeding 1.75
Failure to yield 1.54
Stop sign/signal violation 1.53 [/b]

I'm a woman and I like to drive fast! I feel fine on the freeway but I hate parking:)
Well,anyway,as I tend to speed I've noticed how most speedy cars are driven by women.Might be my case but somehow that slow guy in front of you always turns out tobe an actual guy lol
I'd say it's pretty personal,research is one thing and personal experience another. What really annoys me,though is that most women love to talk on the cell hpone when they drive,I hate doing that. And men,given their competitive nature,cannot stand being passed by a woman. A few times I had to almost race some guy who didn't understand I was simply trying to get to work on time,no offense meant to anyone:)

It can get worse if you drive a faster-looking car. I repeat-LOOKING,it doesn't have to be fast lol
The first few days I drove a convertible people kept thinking I was down for a race. Not mentioning evil truck drivers who think they can intimidate you by their size!

Women can be oh so evil behind the wheel! 
Men think they are macho but women are as forceful behind the wheel as they are at nagging at home (smile!). If I had the choice between going up against a woman or man behind the wheel, I'd have to choose the guy. Women don't follow the rules, they make them up as they go; why, because they say so...! Never under-estimate the power of a woman's power, especially behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Women are AWESOME! Woman/Girl Power Forever!!!!!

There is doubt in it mens are really kool and active drivers then women...because men are too braver then women to drive fast and in smart way....thats why in fast race stuffs on mens race are there not for women..these it self prove mens are better driver then women in all case...:)

for me, if we talk about skills in driving, it will be the men who are the better. however, sometimes women are more careful during driving. so, if we talk about safe driving, it probably the women are better. but, in my opinion in overall, men are the better driver compared to women.

it depends on the person who are responsible when they drive man are woman
here the woman get cheapter insurance then men.it depend on the age here also.

I believe women are better drivers because of the following reasons:
1. women are more careful than men.
2. women are more concentrated than men
3. women don't speed like men
4. women are more obedient to traffic rules and regulations than men.

Hi Jess (hope I can call ya Jess without the numbers cause I'm too lazy to type numbers too!)
I believe women are the best drivers.. until they turn 98 and can't see over the steering wheel.. then all ya see is blue hair and two little hands on the wheel.. yeah.. well.... I nearly got killed by a few of them women..... other than that .. they are the best drivers!
I've never even had a ticket!!! seriously! I out ran the cops and they haven't caught me yet! if asked...... you haven't seen me. ok?

Women are more instructive on the road. They don't overtake (I only hear about a lady last week that overtake a line of traffic in my country and kill a pedestrian.She will be charge for manslaughter). Women drivers don't give bly and because of things male drivers in Jamaica dislike them.
But women drivers on a whole don't break rules. While on the other hand men drivers will even implement road code just to cut out traffic.lol

I'm glad someone actually did a study on this subject. I have been the passenger while men are driving and most of them suck at driving 
My husband drives about 200 miles a day for his job and I can't stand being the passenger with him. I once asked him if he would pull over and let me drive because he "forgot" where we were going and went the wrong way.

LOL This information doesn't surprise me at all! I'm glad to see my view point has been validated also. After years of dealing with the male drivers in my family I'd already come to this same conclusion. My ex, who drove fast regardless of the weather conditions. My stepdad who can't see well enough to drive - but does so anyway. My partner who pays no attention to lanes, other cars or where he is going - so much so that I insist on driving when we are going someplace. And my son, who at the age of 27 has had three times the amount of accidents and speeding tickets than I have had.

Well.. women are the safest drivers for sure. But they tend to be annoying as they are afraid to drive past stuff like buses and big trucks. And they are usually very cautious when coming out which is good but some just really overdo it. My mom used to drive really good and fast. So I would have to agree with you by saying that women are better drivers in terms of being safe but they should be less scared. But men take it away in terms of speed and control. Men tend to drive faster and control their cars better while flying down the high way so it really depends on what you are using to judge as being better driver. Safety or Control.

i dont think driving is a gender based issue anyone can be a good driver irrespective of men or women. driving is a easy thing to do and almost anyone can learn to do it and saying that men are better drivers will be a highly chauvenistic statement to make and even my being a male i say that.
