Ok, Iam reading a book that was supposed be the final volume of a trilogy. My wife read it first and I persuaded her to give me some hints as to how it might end. She held out as long as possible before letting me know that it doesn't end. There is going to be another book......I guess just one, for all I know now they could be stretching this out for 10 more books. Now I am emotionally invested in theses characters. I know I a m not the only person that gets caught up in a book series, so tell me....How do YOU cope with waiting for the next book to come out?

The waiting is horrible. I'm waiting right now for the newest Luanne Rice book to come out in paperback. Honestly, I go to the bookstore every week looking for it. I've tried reading something else to fill in the gap but when I'm waiting for a specific type of story, nothing else will seem to do. I try reading books written by a couple of other authors that I like. Okay, so don't keep me in suspense what is the series that you're reading?

Its the Inheritance Series by Christopher Paoilini. The first book was Eragon....you may remember the not-so-great movie adaptation of the book that came out a year or so ago.

I do remember the not very memorable Eragon but I'll make it a point now to pick up the book. I hate when they make my favorite books into movies. The movies are rarely as good as the book. I went to see Twilight to see what all the hype was about and thought that the movie was mediocre. Now I'm reading the book and enjoying it so much more. Thanks for the response

I love that series. And I also hate to wait for the next book. I do hope Paolini does what he did in Brisingr, write a detailed synopsis of the preceding books. I always forget them during the wait.

I love reading books that are part of a series. I know the waiting can be painful, but since I have so many books in my TBR list, I can sort of entertain myself with other books until the one I'm waiting for gets release. I also found joing discussion groups that share the same interests helps me in the waiting. I have a yahoo group where we are rereading the 1st 6 books of the author that we like in preparation for the release of the next one next year. I know..LOL..it sounds extreme, but i'm crazy over certain books. So the story did not end with Brisingr? Hmm..I read Eragon, and I have Eldest and Brisigr in my TBR list. I guess Paulini will still be writing...
