First of all, I have to question your use of the word "man." Why did you choose that word? Are women not a part of this discussion?
But I have to agree with you to some extent. While I don't think there is any such thing as a "perfect religious man" except for Jesus, who was sinless, I do think that there are good ways to live out your religion and not so good ways. It's always good to be tolerant and respectful to people's beliefs and opinions. Especially when it comes to something as un-provable as religion. So if I were to describe a prime example of a "religious" person, it would be someone who loves God with all of their heart and soul and someone who loves their neighbor as themselves. That includes being tolerant and respectful.

i have an entirely different opinion per this discussion.
for me, the truly religious person never stops to seek the truth until he finally is convinced that he has found the real one. then he never tires of consulting the bible, reading the book with consistency no matter how little the time he may spend on doing so.
then, he observes all the rules and the regulations being taught to him. the guide is the bible. for as long as the rules and the regulations do not contradict with the stipulations in the bible but instead, goes with it and is undoubtedly so affirmed by the teachings therein, then he observes everything to the letter.
what you say about the person being respectful of the belief of others is only a drop in a bucketful of water.

What you are describing may be "the perfect Christian" but not the perfect religious person. There's a difference.

The perfect religious person can only be someone who has no specific religion. Someone who can worship in a Muslim Mosque, a Christian Cathedral, a Jewish Temple or the house of worship of any of the thousands of religions and find that they are comfortable and can find meaning in all come close to being the perfect religious person.
It is not about respecting other religions, it is knowing that all religions have meaning and all are equally valid. The perfect religious person must not respect other religions , the need to be able to embrace all religions.

Cause i'm moslem, the perfect religious man is The Messenger of God, Muhammad Shallallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam. He is the one person that so perfect, almost without mistake.
