I'm terrified of it. I avoid it whenever possible. Unfortunately, my husband is from another continent, so I'm doomed to a life of flying to visit in-laws and such. If you're afraid of flying, how do you deal with it?

Well, if I was affaid to fly I would make sure that I was really tired and sleep the hole way. But as I'm not I just read or look out of the window if I can. I don't get to fly much so I guess. But when I do I read if it is a long flight. You have a wonderful day and stay safe my friend your friend onlydia

I wish I could just sleep, but I can't ever sleep on a plane. It's too uncomfortable because the seats are so small.

I have travelled by plane lots of time... I am not afraid of it... I travelled even for twelve hours.. even if polls says that are more likely train crushes than accidents by plane , there is a thing terrifying me. it's this: If you hurt yourself during an train crush, it's unlikely that you die... but if you hurt yourself in a plane accidents, it's likely that you die!! but anyway... the world can offer you something wonderful. it's a pity not to discover unbelieveble places for this kind of fear... my journeys in america or in asia enriched me so much.. i will never forget them... and advise you to try to overcome your fears..

Yeah, that's how I feel...maybe the chances of a plane crash are smaller, but if it happens, there is little chance of survival!

Thankfully I am not afraid of flying. But long hours of flight makes me bored. So basically I try to do something to kill my boredom. Usually I either listen to music in flight or go to sleep. Sleeping works wonders for me during journeys. Its therapeutic and helps kill time during long distant flights too.

Boredom is a problem on a smooth flight. But usually the turbulence keeps me too freaked out to be bored!

Luckily for me, I never was afraid of it. I got on a plane for the first time I think I was like 5. My sister was even younger. The flight we took when I was five, my sister was 4 months old. So, no, I'm not afraid of flying, never have been.

I used to not be afraid, but since I had my daughter, it scares me silly. I guess I'm scared for her.

It's understandable to be scared for your daughter. In your position, I know I would be too.
