Congratulations on that... i am not a smoker... but i know how hard it can be to break such a habit... so i think you have done something that is somewhat impossible for others to do...
I hope you feel and look a lot better now... since not smoking can do wonders for the body... Keep it up!!!

My dad quit after 40 years of smoking. No medicines,no therapy-he just got fed up with it. I would like to quit one day but I don't think I could right now. It seems that I would have no joys in left in this life:)

Good for you hon!!! Please don't do what I did I quit then started up three different times. The last time I quit it nearly killed me literally. It's not too bad the first time I quit I was able to quit the second time but when I decided to quit for good it was real hard. Each time you quit and start up again it's not so eazy at all. I quit for keeps in 1996 or 97 I'm not all that sure on the year but it was in February. I made a promise to myself first then to my daughter I would not smoke again and I will Not Smoke again!!! I'm very proud of my success, now if I could just loose the 50 pounds I put on that would be fabulous!!!

Sure!
I never smoked in my house, so when I quit and I was craving a smoke I went outside, and found something else to do. This really helped with the habit of going outside, I actually started doing yard work!
So maybe you could find something else to do in the evenings that is similar to your smoking routines, just cut out the smoking part.
I hope that made sense, because that really is what helped me the most!

I am happy for you! that is a hard habit to break! I quit for a little over two years once, then started back when life went all to pieces... but at least now.. I know it can be done!
I plan on quitting Jan 1st....... wish me luck!
Merry Christmas!

Congratulations on quitting! I've been thinking of trying to quit again (I only lasted part of one day last summer) I have two little ones at home and I should quit for their sake--but I guess I'm not quite ready to take another leap and do it. I will soon, though. Anyhow, that's great that you quit.

That is soooo good. I have cut back alot, but not sure if it is time to quit. Or course this will be the 3rd year in a row it has been my new years resolution, but I am going to stick to it I think. I really hope so. I am sooo tired of feeling like crap.

I came accross some health concerns, and it just seemed ridiculios to keep smoking if that could help reduce my chances of gettign sicker.
I was a smoker for almost 9 years, so I understand how hard it can be, but I just had to quit for my health, and possibly my life.
