Every child is different and some are slower at learning to walk than others. Disability Allowance in my home country considers mobility from age three. So your son might be a late walker. It is excellent that he is able to stand. You could seek advice but I am sure you will be told he is normal and will learn to walk in his own time. My son is 20 months old and he has one weak leg. He can crawl and kneel up but not stand or walk. Good luck.

Hello CRS. all babies mature and get ready for different developments at different stage. If your concerned than I suggest that you check with your pediatrician. but as I wrote earlier not all babies do thing at the same time. The normal age range is any where from 9 to 18 months for walking. If he's not walking by 18 months then it is time to worry and take him to the pediatrician. when he does start walking you may wish he would be still for a while because he will be into every thing and you won't have a minutes rest. Relax and enjoy your son as he is right now. He'll walk when he's ready.

Since he is standing I wouldn't be too worried about it. Some kids walk sooner than others, some later. With my own kids, my oldest didn't start walking until he was 18 month old. And it took even longer with my youngest.
If you are concerned about your child's development, you should talk to your child's doctor about it. But like I said since he is standing I wouldn't be too worried about it. Good luck!

Is he over weight,so that he cant take one step even?Try walkers for him,so that he use to walk with it.Also visit a paediatrician and rule out your dobts in this case.Because your anticipations may spoil your health. You can also get the right advice for your child concerned.Hope your kid run soon!

My daughter could walk when she was 12 months old, but some time others will take longer time to walk. I his legs aren't in problem. Then maybe you should more encourage him to walk or guided him to walk.
Each baby development are different, this include the time it's take to develop.
But, it is not hurt if just consult to your pediatrician and get more accurate informations.

If his legs seem to be fine, have you tried to hold onto his little hands and guide him along? If so, does he move his legs in a walking-type motion? If so, don't worry too much, he will walk when he is ready. In the meantime, encourage him to use his legs often. I think that if you help him by guiding him along, he will take iff running in no time.
