read emails vs. paid to click

Actually, the read email sites I've encountered are pretty good. The top two I think are Hits4Pay and Deals'N'Cash sites (both can be found on the VOMO banner site on my profile). But I really don't see much of a difference between them and ptc sites - they both pay you to visit a website, they just bring you there a different way. What do you think about 'read emails' vs PTC? Is there really a difference?
