My mother is going for a family reunion and im left here with my younger sister for christmas. Its not unusual coz Ive been through this set up and i just hope the reunion with the clan goes well. I could go if there was no wedding schedule for the 26, and so because of the wedding all other plans will be cancelled. Oh boy, I have to be on my friends wedding, i dont want to break her heart and its just this year that I could extend a mile for her.
Have a nice day to you all and advance merry christmas and a happy new year!

That is great that you are going to be there for your sister so that your mom could go to the reunion! Was very nice of you! I'm sure you will still have a great Christmas though! I haven't had a Christmas with my mom, dad, and brother in YEARS because we are so far away from each other! I am still excited though because I get to share Christmas with my hubby and my 2 1/2 year old daughter!

Yeah for sure, what else to do?. As friendship comes first and a very good attitude to morally support your friend wedding ceremony. Once friendship runs priority in our blood, many positive things prevails in future time. Attending friend's invitation will be making their vivid gathering much blissful. Because why?. Just for one reason, being invited. Thanks for your well wishes for Merry Christmas 2008 and Happy New Year 2009.....me too.

Yeah, stuff like that happens sometimes. Interesting how everything seems to happen at once, and we end up either double booking ourselves, or having to disappoint someone in order to do "the right thing." Good for you for sticking with your friend's wedding. I would have done the exact same thing.

I have never been away from my family at Christmas. I imagine it must really hard, although in 2012, I hope to be away from them because I'll be on a writing fellowship where I need to leave North America for a year.

i experienced this already. when i worked at japan for the second time, my children celebrated christmas without me. i can not say that i celebrated christmas and new year for we are still working on that special day. well at japan it is just an ordinary day so we still need to go to work. i was not sad at all because i really needed the work for that was the times when we left my husband and i was standing as my children's father and mother at the same time. it was a great oportunity for me to work abroad and all of that are for my children. it was sad but it was also okay.

Hey Zelmarq. :). It's been a while and I'm so back. :).
This Christmas will be the first ever in my entire existence to spend it away from my parents. I will be with my sister, though. But still, it feels a little weird, no, maybe just different. Well, there may be Christmases to come that I will just have to spend it on my own. I wonder how would that ever feel... The real meaning of Christmas just makes me smile, maybe, even when I'm alone, I would still be smiling because of the reason why Christmas happens. Christmas just makes me feel extra special, with or without anybody. :D

i wasnt able to celebrate christmas with my family because of work. i am out of town. but i am happy that i can able to celebrate new year with them. it was sad to see them on chat only and i know they both miss me (my wife and son) as i miss them both as well. now that i am here to celebrate new year with them i will treat them and give the best they deserve.
