Windows XP is much more better than the Windows Vista

Windows vista hit the market as Microsoft (Bill gates) launches it back in 2007 in the freezing city of New York. But as the time goes by, it seems that more and more people are having hard times with this new innovation by microsoft. i have my Vista installed in my PC a recent month ago. But like others, i more prefer to have the XP than it. Why? well, for me, Xp is more easy to use. yah, Vista is quite impressive as it seems. but more and more features seem to be complicated and is not easy to handle unlike the XP. and the most of it, XP with the beta service pack 3 has twice the performance of vista. so, why stick to that required-large-amount-of-memory OS when you can find a lot more better with a minimum memory requirement? Well, not all people are like me. So, why don't you put your ideas and comments regarding this one?

i like xp because i'm used to it. the laptop i'm using now has vista. i don't like vista much especially when i'm using the ms office for my work. the options or whatever you call those things under the menu are all mixed up in other menus so i get confused. instead of doing my work quickly, it takes me a long time finding the right options.

Certainly. That's one of the many reasons why people are to prefer Xp than the Vista.

I think also is must more appreciated by more users than vista. But my OS at the present is vista because it installed already on my system when i bought my laptop. You can still use xp in vista by installing virtual pc on your drive. Vista is much complicated because of program compatibilities.

That is one way to set up xp and handle such needed applications that vista does not support though virtualization in today's era of computers are possible I won't do it with my old buddy friend PC that could not handle vista's requirements.

My desktop PC is a Windows XP Pro SP2 while my laptop, which I use for myLotting, is a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I guess a lot of people say that Vista is not as user-friendly as XP is, because Vista is the newest operating system. Aside from that, if we'd compare even those operating systems in the past (2000, 1998, 1995), Vista has tons of changes! XP didn't have much difference with Win2000 so people didn't have to adjust a lot. That's also equated to programs/drivers which didn't have to get updated for compatibility's sake. Vista, on the other hand, not only changed its design but also modified a lot of XP's internal structure. A common example is the popular Documents&Settings in XP which is now Users in Vista. On top of that, thousands of programs became incompatible with Vista so they had to make upgrades and patches which made people spend more money! (I actually work with a software company so I know how pissed off Windows Vista users are, when it comes to incompatibilities) Now as a user of both operating systems, I'd choose Vista over XP. The system properties on my vista laptop are enough to boost its performance. I am used to it so I don't have any issues with navigation or configuring its settings. So far, I don't have any problems with incompatibilities because all the programs that I need are on my computer(of course they're all working fine). And the other thing that I love is its look! Its high resolution and security are one of the reasons why I prefer Vista over XP.

Yeah! i agree with this opinion that xp is much better than vista. I tried to install windows vista on my desktop and laptop severval times before and worked very hard to learn the basic skills. i searched many online mannuals about how to manipulte it. To my dissapointment, I found it very complicated and uncomfortable to use. Though it's really inpressive in terms of its interface ,high resolution and 3D effect, I still decided to come back to windows xp which is easier to use and control. xp is not so strict on hardware performance as vista. It works faster and even the comman computers can run it smoothly. Someone says that vista is only a transitional product just like windows me which was released between windows 98 and windows 2000. Now windows 7 is to be released in the near future. Let's see what great changes have been make in this new product!

I am using Windows Vista at the moment and I can say that when I was using XP it was much more faster and much more easier to use. Well I think because XP was around much longer and people knew the inside-out of XP that's why people tend to say that it is much better. Thing is Vista is also an efficient OS and it has a lot of good stuffs that XP don't. You just have to tweak some settings in vista for it to work properly.

I have never had a problem with Windows Vista. It works great, and as I can afford to upgrade the rest of my laptops, with Vista, even my wife like windows vista

The issue on compatibility has been the big problem for Vista. The scenario can be compared to that of the release of Windows ME then sudden release of Windows XP.Most migrated from Windows 98 or Windows 2000 to Windows XP leaving the ME an outcast. And now, Windows 7 is about to be released and base on my experience I really do like more Windows 7 than Windows Vista.Hence, if Windows 7 would not be released then still i'll stick to Windows XP being the best OS from Microsft ever (waiting for the Windows 7 performance since it was in Beta now).
