When Your E-mailbox is Flooded with Notifications from myLot, how do you Feel?

Each day as I look at my E-mailbox, I do open first the notifications of friends discussions. However, if after seeing my mailbox full and almost burping and then found out there are actually very few topics therein that hit my interest,I really get disappointed because that would mean I'd be participating in fewer discussions of my good friends as well. It also disappoints me to see any senseless topic in my mailbox and for this reason I have decided to just turn off the notifications of friends who are guilty of that. How about you?
A BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND A JOYFUL NEW YEAR TO ALL MYLOTTERS!!!

My e-mailbox gets the same way, everyday its full of notifications of discussions, and sometimes I can't keep up with them all, especially if I haven't checked it in a few days. There are some that don't hit my interest either, and I hate to have to delete them because they are from friends, but if you don't have anything to say, then what can you do? I guess the only thing for me would be to turn some of them off, but I hate to do that too.

Well, it is really hard to cope up with all discussions of friends so now I only turn off those from chosen few. What I mean are those friends who are known to me as starters of sensible and meaningful discussions. But those friends who do not, I have turned their notifications off already. However, I noticed that those friends of mine who are capable of starting good discussions do not always start discussions. Maybe because they are really thinking first and making sure their topic are really worth being posted.

I don't have any of my friends "on" for notification. Like you it was a bit overwhelming. So I just pick topics from the discussion lists that interest me. As it is I get enough notifications when I generate a topic, or when I've replied to others. I had 26 emails yesterday in one afternoon from a topic. I don't need more thats for sure. Life is too short to spend all my time here.

Ha!ha!ha! Right you are! Life is too short and if you are going to spend all your time at mylot that means you will be missing a lot. Sometimes though, myLot is addictive especially if there are so many good topics around.

Hi there friend...
While it may somehow dampen one's enthusiasm to find only a few discussions of your interest from sites such as mylot, I would think that it is basically just temporary as the holidays do present more challenges these days...meaning one needs to exert more efforts at creativity and more to fill in for the less quantities in things that high costs have brought, if you get what I mean. I'm sure everything will get back to normal in the coming new year.
Inasmuch as you may not be online this time I sure hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends...and may the new year bring you more!!!
I hope you didn't turn me off from your friend's list...Happy mylotting!!!

Hi friend! I'm back after 12 days long vacation and I am so glad to receive a response from you. Yes I really had a very nice holiday with my family and friends and I hope you too!
And of course I wish to assure you that I never turned your notification off! In fact, your discussions are among those which I consider sensible and meaningful. The sad thing is that you don't start discussions everyday. I understand though that you are busy with your other tasks so it is okay! Have a nice day!

I enjoy getting opening my email to find lots of notifications from mylot. I made a folder for the discussions from my friends and I move all of them first. Then in the evening when I have more time I will check them out to see if they are discussions I want to get involved in.
After I have moved all the discussion emails to their folder I start checking all the other mail from mylot. I am especially pleased when I am notified that someone has commented on my discussion but I am most gratified when I am notified that someone has responded to my comments.
However, it seems that things are slowing down here in mylot. I guess it is because everyone is busy with family and the season. So I expect it will pick up again after all this is over.

That's a great idea! Maybe I will do the same! I will make a folder where I could move those discussions from my friends so it will be easier for me to choose from them.
I love receiving notification that I have been responded on my comments too!

I do also try my best to respond to all my friends so I divide my time to time. This is the reason why if a friend post so many topics, it is really hard for me to respond to all of them because my time is limited.

I would really like to receive notifications from the site since i like to know how much and what people are responding to the comment that i have given to their post or to the post i have started and i really intrests me when some people actually take my response in a good way and reply me and i really like that thing and i really love to receive messages in my inbox and not avoid them...
Merry Christmas.
Happy New Year.
Happy Mylotting.

I read only if I have time, otherwise I hit the delete button. I work online to supplement my income and many times I have to apply my time to other sites. Whenever time allows I'm anxious to see what my friends have to say and have been up to in my absence. I never choose to let any site become a burden to me, that would derail my focus. I can happily say that Mylot is my favorite site online, and mylotters are some of the greatest people around. How can I not have a blessed Christmas and joyful New Year when I have all of you to share it with!
Thanks for your well wishes, the same to you and yours and all mylotters everywhere!

Yes that is a great idea! Why let any site burden you if your target is really to work. Mylot is also my favorite site because this is where I really developed good cyber friends so I can never exchange myLot with other sites.

Yes, it is always a pleasure to get a best response and we of course mark that user who gave BR to us. It is an encouragement for us to participate in the discussions of those users who acknowledge our responses more so if they give us BRs.

Of course you can always manage your notification in order to avoid so many notifications coming in your inbox. It's hard to be flooded with unwanted discussions. To me it is a waste of time deleting them one by one so I only turn on notifications of friends who make interesting topics and those friends who always start senseless topics I have turned them off.

I generally get mails from mylot if somebody give a comment on my response it is very good to here that some body has commented om my response. But if you don't want to see those mails use a mail filter and redirect all mails from mylot to a different folder in your inbox and read them when you are free even most of my friends do the same

I don't know how to use the mail filter so what I am doing is to just to turn off the notifications of friends whose discussions are always not interesting to me. I know those friends whose discussions are meaningful and interesting so now I make it a point to turn their notifications so I don't miss their discussions.

Yes it is always a pleasure to be receive notices of responses for the discussion you started. But it is a headache to be flooded with notifications of senseless discussions you don't even know how to respond.

yup,i am also faced with that problem, but then i find it convienient as i do get notified,if my friends do start a new discussion.but the down side is that i am not able to go my interests section now.as of now,i am weighing the pros and con.

Yes same here, I'm unable to go to my interests section anymore because the notifications are enough to keep me busy. However there are days when topics in my notifications are really not of my interest so I go to my interests section to find topics I can participate in.

Well I both like and dislike it. When the mailbox is full of notifications about who has started what discussion, I don’t like it coz I like to surf thru mylot myself and find out about discussions. But if its full of responses to my comments, I really enjoy reading each response and write back, if required. It makes me feel satisfied as I understand that the other person has read what I have written and my efforts have not gone waste.

Of course it is more enjoyable to find responses to your comments in your mailbox. I also do enjoy reading responses and writing back to them no matter how many they are.

Why burden your e-mail with discussions of friends who do not even support you. You can always turn them off. I only go through the topics of non-supportive ones if I have more time left and only if their topics are interesting to me.

Hi Salonga,
I also felt disappointed to get notifications of those discussion which I have nothing to reply or not familiar with the subject. I turned off some of my friends those who are starting discussions for getting some information about some sites. Usually I also don't know anything about the same site then how can I give a reply. I will check in mylot whether they started any interesting discussions so that I can also respond.

Yes it is really disappointing to find topics you have no knowledge about so better just turn off notifications for friends who always start that kind of topics.

I don't get any email notifications now. Mylot has not fixed my problem after all this while. I'm not missing them actually, but I do hope that my friends won't get angry with me that I may not reply to their discussions as often as I used to or respond to their responses (am I making sense?) Anyway, you can also turn off the notifications if you like, no one is forcing you to read every single thing. Happy holidays!

You seem to be having some problem with myLot admin. Anyway, yes I have turned off the notification of those whose posts do not interest me because it is my prerogative and as you said no one is forcing me to read every single thing. Hasppy holidays to you too!

I feel great when my email has myLot Notifications, never tried having "floods" before but it should be ok for me since it is organized into a special mylot folders and it doesn't bother my daily mails which need my urgent attention. I think it's fun to open the myLot email folder and find tons of notices, since when I'm opening it means that I have the time for it, and the notices simple encourages me to spent some time responding to something I've taken part in some time ago. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Yes it is a great idea to make a separate folder for all notifications. I am thankful that I open this kind of discussion because I've gotten the idea that I could open a separate folder for that purpose in order not to mess up with my other mails. Cheers!
