Its really amazing how many people have gone crazy with the novel Twilight. It has become a phenomenon that fans throughout the world has started believing and wishing that vampires were true than myths. hehe. Anyway, I have to admit that when somebody recommended me to read Twilight, I got curious that it has become an obsession to visit bookstores in hopes to buy one. Yeah curiousity is what drove me to buy that book. I want to know what it is that people is crazy about Twilight. But to no avail. Its always out of stock! I gave up with that obsession by just downloading an ebook which also leaked in the Internet (no I didn't spread it okay? Im just using it for personal use and I have no intention of ever sharing it). I figured that I might as well try it anyway since its out in the cinema already and I want to read the book first before watching the movie. Aside from being tired of constantly visiting and bugging the salesclerk about its availability and going home disappointed, its soooo expensive! Voila! I'm glad that I didn't buy the books coz I just finished the saga (book 1-4). My comment? ITS AN OK BOOK. No don't hate me yet coz I'm not saying that I hate the book. I just say that ITS AN OK BOOK. Not a book that I would go crazy about.heheh I dunno why, but I just cant compare it to Harry Potter though (I have all the book in HP)..I could say that I love HP compared to this one. But I have to admit that Twilight is interesting, something new from other vampire novels out there. Where vampires are supposedly are creatures of the dark, have become an angel (not all though eheh). Its an interesting twist. What I don't like though is the obsessive love in the story, that its almost disturbing and yeah I'm jealous of Edward Cullen..hehehe.. Like hello!! who wouldn't want to have some guy who's just exactly like him right? He's really sooo good to be true that us girls start thinking that our boyfriends are like that rather than the jerk they are hehehehe... But thats there is to it. I am annoyed on some parts of the book though, like Bella being totally helpless (yes I'm aware of people's differences in dealing with problems), the transformation of Jacob from a friendly boy to a tactless jerk with loud mouth and yes the ending..I can't accept the fact that the Volturi is still living..LOL.. I mean, we all know how ruthless they are and there is always possibility that they will come back to the Cullens and find something wrong for them to exterminate their coven and how about those witnesses are they safe at all from the Volturi. I just feel that there should be a continuation and not just leave like that. What I'm trying to point out is, If you were the Volturi, would u really back off easily? just like that? they may probably do the same thing again in the future, looking for excuse to annihilate the Cullens and all those witnesses just to keep their name clean. Anyway, I can't do anything about that, but just ponder. Afterall, it is up to the author how she wants to end the story. :) Anyway, to all Twilight Fans there, please please don't hate me. WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO OUR OPINION. WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO OUR PREFERENCES. okay? no hot heads here please? :) and oh by the way, I prefer the book than the movie. There are many changes in the movie and Bella's (Kristen) character there is lacking...

I think Twilight isn't the BEST book ever, but it's ok. The only reason why everyone likes it is the character description of Edward. Stephanie Meyer isn't that good of an author. She cannot compare with J.K. Rowling. She isn't even close. Her books are nowhere near as good. The book was better than the movie, though. The movie had REALLY bad special effects, and the actors and actresses weren't very experienced.

i agree. afterall this is meyer's first time. she can never compare with jk rowling so i guess its too early to judge her writing abilities. but i do know what is it in the book that makes people crazy. its edward. we all love to have that type of guy and we cant help but dream. we girls love romances.hehhe. i agree with the movie, i dont like it much too. i dont like the actress chosen for bella. rob pattison is great though but kirsten is lacking, i mean i dont hate her but its just that theres something lacking in the way she portrayed bella. :)) plus there are many changes. :)) so i prefer the book over the movie.

@lifesavr_89 the choice for Jacob though is perfect. i mean in his looks. he's got those dangerous looks and his body!! wow!!! however he lack the height. remember Jacob grows in a fast phase, wonder how or what the producer or director will do about this one. and i still have yet to assess taylor's acting because, its my first time to see him. his role in twilight is little and minor so i can't just judge him on that. i might in the next book though that is if they make a movie out of it (which i heard as well hehe). :)

I prefer the book too. Oh yes, I do think that girls get so hooked because the story revolves around an ordinary girl and a vampire falling in love. Hmm.. I like it because I'm a sucker for romance and Night World-ish themes. Uhmm.. I've read books like Twilight. Twilight theme isn't entirely new, no offense. You will find some similarities when you try reading LJ Smith's Vampire Diaries. I'm not just a fan of Twilight, I'm a fan of other vampire lit. :D

yeah its a romantic novel. its something we girls would lov to have..but we all know better that theres no such thing as perfect guy hehehe =)) i have read some vampire themes book though from Anne Rice (Queen of the Damned and Interview of the Vampire)...its totally different..lots of grisly scenes and fights. but i guess that makes sense since twilight is centered to the budding romance of bella and edward.

When you can live forever. What do u live for? I wish normal people have heart like vampires do. Once they fall in love They NEVER fall out of love..... Twilight is romantic but has an exciting story no doubt why a lot of people get hooked on it.. And i must admit i'm one of those people.. I like the story it makes me remind of something in my past....

i love that line. at first i didnt get what that phrase means. its juz too deep to comprehend and i hav no idea at first what twilight is all about. it is then that ive read the entire book that it revolves about love specifically love that is taboo. a great challenge. i may not one of those whose crazy of twilight but im giving it a thumbs up still for stephenie making something new and unique from other vampire novels which full of grisly images.

I am not familiar with the book Twilight, but I know Harry Potter and I have seen the film before. If I meet Twilight in the book store, I would like to buy it. The story about vampires, that sounds great! By the way, do you know whether it has a film come from this book? If it exists, pls give me its name! THX

I've read your discussion post, and I wasn't so sure what you are driving out. I've read the Twilight books, and I enjoyed them. I've read a lot of paranormal romance novels; plenty of them have vampire heroes. The Twilight books are not the first, and definitely not my last read when it comes to this genre. Although I like Edward Cullen's character in Twilight, he is just too sweet and pretty much in a kid's body. I prefer my vamp heroes older and sexier. Although I enjoy reading such stories, I'm not really into wishing vamps are real. My hubby commented just a few days ago, saying something like, "maybe I should grow fangs, to keep your interest." I laughed at his statement, saying, "Don't be foolish. I enjoy reading about hot, sexy vamps, but I don't really want one in real life." Fantasy is fantasy, great for a couple hours of escape from reality. So no vamps for real, for me, though.

Yeah, thats why i love fantasy books coz it makes me forget the reality for a while. hehehe. As for my post, I'm just pointing out my observation about how Twilight has become a fad these days especially to girls. That got me curious of course. But after reading it through e-book, I just find it an OK BOOK, not a book that I would be crazy about and would love to reread. hehe. I may sound confusing coz I just typed what's in my head and you know mylot, its difficult to edit it once its already posted. LOL. hahaha, ur hubby must be jealous of Edward Cullen though. But good thing he didnt hate him. Coz ive read from many forums about guys hating Edward hehe. Its not just vampires anyway, but fairies and anything that has to do with magic like Harry Potter, hehe. Thanks for the comment.

hi, eliezl firstly, i like the twilight saga. it is very interesting and i think it's good that stephenie meyer created her own kind of "vampires". ya know, different explanation why they cannot go out under the sun and the no-sleeping thing... but yyyeeesss, i looooovvvveee the harry potter series. i am enamored by j.k. rowling's genius. i think she is brilliant. i mean, i have read and re-read my hp books a dozen times already but i do not want to re-read twilight. i enjoyed reading it but i would not want to read it again. and yes, the fact that the books are not available is exasperating. i wanted to buy all four books but i got tired of waiting, so i just borrowed my friend's books. secondly, i am sorry to say that, just like the harry potter movies, i was not very happy with the movie twilight. oh well. have a nice day, eliezl

high5! i guess its just fair to say that its too early to judge S.Meyer's ability as a writer and compare it to Rowling. Afterall, she's said in her website, that its her first experience. But im impressed though because for a person who have no writing experience at all, she managed to come up with such interesting story that it has become an instant phenomenon..ive read lots of blogs about how they love edward cullen and the likes... and were the same about that re-reading harry potter as well..i will just never get tired of it..my books already have wrinkles for the many times ive read and reread it..hehe. have a nice day too Rainegurl. *_* thanks for the comment :)
