I wasn't sure whether to put this under dogs or parenting so it is in life. I was about to get my son a yoghurt and spoon when the phone rang so I answered it and my son now four went and got his youhurt from the kitchen whilst I was chatting. I got off the phone and suddenly thought 'wheres the puppy'? I asked my son where the dog was. I have locked him in his crate and covered it so he doesn't eat my yoghurt and covered him so he didn't get upset seeing me eating it mum. I had to laugh but the dog only goes in his crate at night and this was in the morning, confused puppy, smart kid
What crazy things have your kids or pets done in the last few days. Please share. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi Sudarsan, Glad it made you smile as I had to laugh too, the confused look on the dogs face and my son telling me what and why he had done what he had done. It takes me forever to get the puppy into his crate at night but no, not my son, I will learn from him, he put a doggy treat into the crate first LOL. My ex-hubby learnt to walk by pulling himself up on his dog and you learnt to ride horses/dogs at 5. Thanks for sharing. Huggles. Ellie :D

Oh this is such a classic story. Your son must be a very kind little boy to be so considerate of the puppy. It is amazing what they learn and I commend him for his reasoning and caring. He sounds a darling. Have a great Christmas. Blessings.

hahahha that was very smart of your kid to put the puppy in the crate and cover the crate up so that the puppy doesnt feel left out while the kid is eating.....
i dont have any kids but i had a lot of dogs..... and i myself never used to like eating in front of our dogs.... though i tried giving them their meal when we used to eat so that they are busy with their food and we with ours but they used to either complete their food really fast and come sit and stare at our food or sometimes they used to leave their food and stare at our food instead.....
so it was getting really hard for us to manage them while meals.....
so the minute we knew that we would be sitting down to eat we used to let the dogs out of the house with their food.....
nothing else we could really do

My dog when she was a puppy used to chew anything that she could her teeth into that included a couple of pair of shoes and the kitchen table.

Hi ellie,
How nice to hear from you, I have missed you, your little boy makes me smile and he is smart, he didn't want the puppy looking at him when he is eating, that is so cute. Kids and animals eh? so sweet. Love and huggles.

Hi my friend Ellie. Your son was so clever to put your puppy in his crate with the cover over. Then he wasn't jealous or begging to get some. My 19 month old son sits in his high chair to eat but I have to put stuff around it to prevent my two dogs getting his food. Secret is too large and nervous to get into tiny spaces. Magic is small and can fit in narrow gaps. She gets underneath the highchair and gobbles up all my son's food that he drops. Have a Happy Christmas Ellie, Maxine.

Hi Ellie. Ziggy adorable. Unlike my 19 month old son you don't drop food when you are making the packed lunches. So he is out of luck whilst Magic is quite successful. Yes, my son and I are off to Cape Town for the last two weeks of January. I can't wait. Maxine.

Hi Maxine, I can imagine Magic waiting under the highchair for any excesses to fall LOL. Ziggy waits when I am doing the packed lunch in the morning in hope I may drop something, he is usually out of luck. Have a wonderful time over the Christmas break and then you are jet setting off somewhere from what I can remember from discussions or is that me wishful thinking instead LOL. Have a good one. My partner brought me a kitten for my Christmas present last week.
She had only been with us a couple of days and when we come down in the morning and she was no where to be seen.
We were worried that she might have got out.
We spent about two and a half hours looking for her to no avail. We were even checking in places that she properly could not have got in but we just wanted to be sure that she hadn't.
We ended up pulling out the washing machine, the dishwasher and the cooker to check behind them but no sign of her.
Then my partner said he heard a meow and it sounded like it was coming from behind the freezer but it seemed a bit strange as we had checked behind it.
So we decided to pull the freezer out my partner got down behind the freezer with a torch and there she was curled up right beneath the freezer motor fast asleep perfectly content.

Hi Littleone3, Aaah It is amazing the places they manage to get themselves into and behind when they are that little. She found herself a nice warm spot bless. Even now Sybil my younger cat is a hider and as she is black I will often go to bed thinking she is out only to be woken by her jumping on me to go out in the middle of the night and I think to myself, 'now where on earth was she' have fun and enjoy your new kitten, thanks for sharing and have a great Christmas. with a houseful of people and critters, the insanity really doesnt end here, it just lapses into a short span of momentary quiet. i guess the most amusing thing lately would be the female portion of the Crites ( twin boy/girl kittens i got this past summer) she is obsessed with this little stressball that has a smiley face on it that mal gave to me a while ago. i keep it on my nightstand, and the theif of a squirrel cat is CONSTANTLY attempting to perform a gaff & run! the other night while we were downstairs in the livingroom watching tv.. we hear this thump thump thump.. and the head came rolling down the stairs.. with Norah airborn after it! thus began another chase amidst laughter to retrieve it and put it back where it belonged. LOL im contemplating putting it under glass like a collectors baseball so she cant take it anymore!

Hi Tessa, I remember being in absolute stitches over Norah doing this and the way you described it, it was the bit where you went through rooms where people looked up shocked as you continued the chase. I was vsualising it all and was giggling out loud. At least now you have managed to sort it by putting a clear globe over it. Ziggy the pup has taken to stealing a bauble whenever I am not looking but he is not as brave as Norah and drops it the minute I spot him as he knows he is not to have. It certainly does sound like constant fun at yours. Thanks so much for sharing and making me laugh. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ellie! That is so cute! You are so right! Smart kid! Poor
little puppy! I can just imagine poor little Ziggy in his
crate wondering why he's back in there so soon after just
getting out of there! That is just so adorable! Just so he
wouldn't get upset! I think he might have been just a bit more
upset and confused, but it was the thought that counts! That's
my boys! How are my two little darlings? Tell them Auntie Opal
wishes them a Merry Christmas! And I do hope that you have
gotten my boy Ziggy a gift! I will be so upset if he has to
sit there seeing the whole family opening their gifts and there
is none for him! He is part of the family now! Star and Luna
will be opening their gifts! Their Mommy would never forget
to get them gifts even though they have been bad little kittys!
The have been scratching every piece of furniture to bits!
I don't know what to do with them! They need to be put into
crates! But, I wouldn't be able to stand all that crying all
night long! I want to wish you and your family a Merry
Christmas and a very Happy and Healty New Year! Hugs, Opal, Star & Luna

Hi Opal, Just to reassure you Ziggy has a large knuckle bone to chew on for Christmas day from Aunty Opal as promised of course, as the lady in pet shop says he is too young for a bone as it might splinter and he also has a pressie wrapped up from my neighbour, lucky Ziggy eh! Luckily none of my cats have ever scratched the furniture, perhaps you could get a pliece of wood with some string wrappedround and cover in cap nip for them to claw instead or they do specialist ones you can buy for them to scratch. I hope Star and Luna enjoy their first Christmas. I will send you a pic if I can of Ziggy with his bone LOL. Have a good one. Love and Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ellie333
Well my kids are always doing funny things but the guinea pigs are the thing at the moment. They keep chasing each other around the cage. The funny thing is that I don't know what 'make' they are!! Who knows we might have some more guinea pigs in the new year!! LOL When I went into the front room this morning one of them was squeaking. I topped their bowl up with food and 'it' stopped squeaking. Cheeky thing, talk about singing for your supper but squeaking for your breakfast? I dunno!

Hi Humbug, Oh I love guinea pigs and miss not having my two as they loved being pampered and where always up to something too. I should also have added that the pup knows when it is crate time and resists but my son had even thought to put a doggy treat in there to get him in and this was all in a matter of a few minutes. I'll have some babies from you if they do produce LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

My pets have been enjoying the foot or so of snow we got. and I love watching them running around outside all excited just like a small child. they run, jump, wrestle and chase each other all through the snow and then the lay down in it and start eating it.. lol too funny- i have to teach them to make doggie snow angels...lol

hi Minx, I forgot to mention though that to entice the puppy into the crate he had grabbed a treat and put it in there and then shut the door as he went in to get it, I can't get the dog in that easily LOL. Doggie snow angels now now would be a fine sight to see. We don't get snow very often and never deep enough to even make a snowball with but I know some people are really getting too much this year. It must be lovely to watch them frolicking in it though. Huggles. Ellie :D
