My sis is moving to Townsville Australia !

Hello! My sister just told me that she's going to Townsville Australia to do a Master. I am extremely happy cause now she is going to be closer to me (Malaysia) and we can surely visit each other more ... Is there anyone here in mylot that is or has lived in Townsville or know about the city? do you know any useful info for someone that is moving there? where con she look for a proper and not so expensive housing, what to take what to do before and after going? even thing like the weather and public transportation are very helpful. Thanks a lot
