Do you procrastinate often?
I realize whenever it comes to reports or projects or even getting down to study for my exams, i tend to tell myself..later...later...later...
it's a bad habit because i get really stressed up when i'm nearing my deadlines. At times, i try to kick start my work early, but i'd tend to push it aside after the next week or so.
Looking around at my peers, i realize i'm not the only one with this problem.
What about you? DO you procrastinate?

hahahhaha! Do I procrastinate? Do IIIII procrastinate?!
Honey, I am the freaking queen of procrastination! I never do things on time even though I make oaths to myself to finish work early!
I watch online movies, go on facebook, myspace and even mylot! ANYTHING to get me away from getting my important work done!
It sucks and it always seems like i am the only one who suffers from procrastination, but the obvious truth is that almost everyone suffers from it! It is just up to you on how you decide to deal with it. Do you just decide you have a problem and thats it, or do you actually do something about it!
Because if you do something about it, what the heck do you do?! I NEED HELP!

sennawork,
Put DOWN the mouse and step AWAY from the keyboard!!!!!
I like wasting time on MySpace (especially the Apps) and I am now a level 150-something in Mobsters and one pretty tough cookie in Sorority Life (I've been playing that one for almost a week now). The easiest way to not do MySpace and whatnot is to just not use my computer for three days.
It might work for you too.
Happy MyLotting!!!

I'm a really bad procrastinator too! Well, it's more that I think I need less time for some paper or presentation, so it's okay if I start with it one day before deadline, but then, if you get some trouble, it's fairly late to ask friends/teachers/... for help. I suppose I need a good amount of stress, need to see the deadline coming before I act...It's not with all things though, only the things I don't like to do, papers with stupid topic or some subject I don't fully understand. Now however, I've got exams coming up and I'm trying not to procrastinate too much, study everyday the best I can, because I really have to pass these exams, otherwise I can't go on holidays this summer...So if I think of that, I'm all motivated again!

I am a very organized person, and yet, I still procrastinate. I have done this since I was a child, and still do it to this day.
I cannot say that it is something good for me to do because it often leads to stress when something is due. I am normally pretty good about assignments. I will get the assignment, and try to get it done so I can focus on other things. Once in a while though, if it is something that I really do not want to do, I will push it off until later. I find that I do this with papers when I don't like the topic I have to write about. I write pretty quickly though, so it is normally not a problem to get a paper done.
The fact is, I always get done what needs to get done and that is the main point.

Yes, I am a master at this game. I may put off many things but never the art of mastering this. I guess I am just too lazy but really, I have not managed badly this far. Also we all need to rest, so if we are all working all the time to meet deadlines, when are we going to rest and enjoy life’s simple things?

No I'm not a procrastinater. I'm one that likes to get things done so I can have my mind free of the clutter of "what else needs to be done" I hate having things hanging over my head knowing I have this to do or that to do. I'd much rather get it done and over with so I can do what I want to do.

Well this is my first post and what a discussion!
I'm the king of procrastination! Hell yeah I know that it's not a good thing but still I'm unable to change myself. Many times I completely give up what I'm doing. But maybe just because I'll start off something new. But yeah as everyone said it often puts us in trouble.

I have that habit until now. It's type of unconsciously trying to push away the stress until the very last minute. This way I only feel stressed out during deadlines. But cramming is bad, cause it really gets on my nerves especially when projects pile up because of procrastination. But I'm trying to change it now by trying to stay punctual with everything and thinking of doing projects one month in advance.
as for you, since you already recognize you problem and know that it stresses you out, i hope you can do something about it by taking a few measures with time management.
have a nice day,

Yes, I must admit that I do have some periods when I procrastinate. It's certainly not one of my best habits, or something that I'm proud of. But it's certainly something that I'm working on.

I am the king procrastinator. I usually get most of my work done when I have little to no time left to do it. It's something that hasn't been the best thing but that's how I am.

I was a big procrastinator in high school, but as I was getting older I kinds stopped. I don't have a good explanation for that. It just happened.
But I agree with you that's a bad habit.

The easier I think an assignment will be, the more I tend to put it off.
Take for instance my thesis proposal. I had one week to do it and I ended-up starting it 6 hours before it was due.
The tougher I think an assignment is, the harder I work on it and the sooner it gets done. The easier I think an assignment is, the less time I give myself to do it. This has NEVER not worked for me in the past, but it is something that I should probalby change.
Happy MyLotting!!!
