How important is it to 'tag' discussions, responses, or comments?

I know that it's important to tag new discussions but what about comments and responses? I always try to tag regardless of whether I'm responding or commenting and sometimes if I read through a discussion I'll just add tags to it that I noticed weren't there and that would be helpful. Do you guys leave tags? How important do you think it is that we do that?

I do tag for every discussion. the purpose is supposedly to find out discussions. Having said this, I have come across some weird tags which neither match nor spell right! On my part, I make it point though. I have noticed that once you tag the discussion you are not asked gain for the same discussion! That saves a lot of time.

Yeah you're right about not being asked again. I never noticed that. I too tag every discussion, I may have skipped one or two but I tag diligently.
