With evolving use of internet & computers ,a lot of literature is now available on the web. With the vast variety offered, ebooks are now gaining more popularity day after day. I personally prefer actual books over e books as i find them more convenient & handy to read. Do u read e books? Do you prefer them over actual paper books? Do reply your ideas...

I've never actually read an e-book. I'll read articles and newspapers online but not books. My head and eyes get sore from staring at the computer too long. ALso the glare makes it difficult for me to focus for long periods of time. I love paper books. This way I can read anywhere I want... including bed..lol It just feels more novel to read a book.

Well I'm one of those people who think that nothing can replace the feeling of an actual book in your hands and reading from it. In the past I wouldn't have gone for an e-book but now I have got plenty as I really don't have much time and a lot of work related stuff needs to be read from e-book. I find I can concentrate better reading a book rather than a e-book.

I maybe old fashioned and my views may be going out. but I seriously like paper books better. You can't feel the thickness of an e-book. It's just not the same, at least to me.

well, just as you say, we can see various ebooks everywhere, and this is a way to save money. We don't have to buy books which are expensive, we just download it and read. I often do such things. Yet, I still prefer paper boks to ebooks because reading ebooks on the computer is harmful for our eyes. I've already suffered from eye problem, so I don't use computer very often.

I would still go with books, not e-books. In this era of technology, e-books are newer modes of education. They are slowly replacing books from our day to day life. Particularly, when it comes to price of the books, e-books appear cheaper alternatives to books. Now every child has access to an computer and most of us use our PC for over a few hours. So, e-books can be read during such time. But, I personally don't feel the charm of reading while reading from an e-book. That's why I would prefer a book over an e-book.

I prefer actual books. E-books can be harmful to your eyes. Besides, you can take an actual book anywhere!

Though ebooks are available and one can even download a book and listen to it on you ipod I somehow like to read a paper book. That is more interesting. If something catches my fancy and interests me I love to read it all over again.Morover I never rush I like to take my time reading it slowly. That's how I like to enjoy a book.

I prefer paper books than e-books. My eyes might also strain if I spend o much time in front of the computer reading. If I'm really into the story I'm reading, I tend to try to read as much as I could and read it from cover to cover if possible.

the only reason why i read ebooks is because they are free to obtain. that is the only reason. other than that, i would prefer an actual paper book. simply because, it is mobile and i can move around with more ease. another point is my eyes won't get as strained as when i read off the screen. with a paper book, i'm able to lie down, stretch and twist and turn to my liking.

well , you say e-books are more convenient and handy to read , i do not think so , i often use the e-books to read , it has a veriety of formats , just like PDF ? EXE ? CHM ? UMD ? PDG ? JAR ? PDB ? TXT ? BRM and so on , now most of phone can use the UMD ? JAR ?and the TXT , just like my phone , so i think that's is more convenient and handy to read , because a book of million words just have a few KB in your phone , your pocket , that's really convenient i think `` and you also can use your e-book tools to adjust the size of the words , to make your eyes more comfortable `` nice Christmas Eve ``

I also prefer books over ebooks but ebooks are convenient since I'm always at the computer. I do print out ebooks so I can read them when I'm not at my computer. The problem with ebooks is they strain my eyes much more than regular books since you have to read them from a computer. This is the primary reason why I still prefer books over ebooks.

i prefer paperbooks over ebooks because you can feel it as you flip every page and close the book but paper books are expensive so i have more ebooks in my computer than paperbooks i own since ebooks are free to download..when i buy paper books i usually buy used books to save money..

Naturally printed book are more convenient and handy. But i read ebooks also they help in reference and we need not to carry much heavy weight books. you need not to write a computer program just copy and paste run program. :)

I have e-books as I have a smartphone. I can read it from my cellphone and it's very convenient. However, I also keep buying the normal books because I like reading. I think the e-books can not replace the paper books anyway. It's nice to read and this is a good habit. I can even leave my books to my child. I love China

im a book lover so its understandable that my room is full of books.hehe..however there are times wherein a particular book is always out of stock in bookstores. and there are times wherein ur really itching to read that book and cant wait anymore, so i guess ebook would come in handy. ebook also helps those who cant afford buying the actual book plus it also saves readers from buying something they dont like in the end. whats problematic about ebook is the eye strain of staring in front of the computer for many hours and the back strain as well not to mention its imobility unless of course if u own those ebook readers available these days. in comparison when u read straight from a paper book itself, u can easily put it down for a while to rest, or u can read it anytime.

I strongly recommend paper books over the e books. paper gives you a very different feel as compared to the e version of the books. You can put bookmarks to it , you can gift the same to someone special. The paper books can be hold in your arms and then you can go to sleep while the same cant be done with the e books. So my strong vote goes to paper books

Nice topic to raise here... I always prefer paper books to read it out, which gives me more interests to read. I personally couldn't read the ebooks more than 15 minutes on the computers. I am having my ipod which having feature to read the ebooks, but i didn't used it any time. I will say, books should be only and only paper books only. Some study material will be fine with ebooks. One more disadvantage about ebooks is their copyright. paper book will be given or sold to only one person at time. But you cant stop personal distribution of ebooks, as they contain very little memory size.

Nothing can replace the book, I like when it is physical and I can take it in my hands and read it. When reading an e-book I always have to switch from one window to another, especially when I'm learning something. It is getting on my nerves, alt+tab this, alt+tab that. Reading it is pretty much the same but learning from it can't even be compared. My conclusion is that paper books rule! :D
