working during the holidays

is anyone here working during the holidays? well, tomorrow will be the start of a long holiday vacation for most of my office mates. unfortunately, my section provides 24/7 technical support. so I'll be working during the holidays. it gets lonely here sometimes because I'm alone during my shift. I'll be working during Christmas and the New Year. I hope you guys will enjoy your vacation. ^_^

I am. Well, I'll be going home soon. Thirty minutes to be exact. But I'll be at my office again on the 26th.

Well I dont work on holidays and that I am grateful for .Its not that I wouldnt want the extra money but I firmly believe that holidays are mine to be used as I see fit foe either pleasure or family.I respect persons who have to work though especially if they are in the essential services because they "hold the fort down" so to speak while we are out doing other things

you're lucky for not working during the holidays. you can relax during that time. it's part of my job to work on holidays.i have been informed during my orientation with the company i'm working for right now that i'll be obliged to work during the holidays and it's fine with me. i can relax during my rest day though which is during friday and saturday.

I used to work in a telephone exchange and I used to love working on Christmas day, everyone is always in a good mood and there is just a lovely atmosphere on that day...i miss working on Christmas Day.

well, i was working during Christmas and the office is very quiet. no phone calls from clients at all. i was very sleepy during my shift. lol! ^_^

Ive been there and done that and done that and was tired for the somany years of working during the holidays, the double pay is not enough since theres so much tax that they take out from my overtime rate. Now that I have been transferred to the new section I can now enjoy the holidays and i enjoy going out on picnics and outings and its more gratifying than working for nothing.
