How many hours per day do you spend in cleaning your house?

I have to spend at least 90 minutes per day just cleaning my house. Of course, there is still more cleaning to be done; but I don't want to spend my entire life cleaning and cleaning. What about you? How many hours do you spend dusting, sweeping, and mopping? "Happy are those who never see dirt and dust and grime for they never have to clean anything in their lives!" Cheers and happy Mylotting

I spend 30 minutes to one hour depending upon the things that i will be doing. sometimes I will spend more time and sometimes also less than that. Well, of course this includes washing the plates? lOL.. cleaning the bathroom and everything.. hahaha I can do that in less than an hour.

LOL! I think I should have specified. I was actually thinking of the cleaning of windows, fans, roof, and floor...not clothes and dishes. That's something different, taking up more time. :(

OMG! Windows, fans, roof and floor?!?!?! Daily?!?! No, I don't spend ANY time everyday on those tasks! I clean my windows when I can no longer see out them, maybe once a year. Same with fans. The floor requires more attention from me, but I have NEVER cleaned my roof! Do you mean the ceiling maybe? If you mean the ceiling, I only clean that about once a year too. Wow! Your house must be pretty damned clean!!!

I want to know how large is your house.Though I haven't a house ,i think i will not spent so much time cleaning every day.The reason why i buy a house is to provide myself a confortable environment and not to let me live for the house. However, you haven't enjoyed the life in the house ,but are tired for cleaning house.I suggest you to call up the members of your family to clean the house with you on weekend. And spend one hour cleaning the places which are dirty. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

i just odn't do cleaning at home. but for cleaning only about 30 minutes minimum. usually more than that. i don't clean in just one time per day. it usually spread out through out the day as i need cleaning as i see something to do. i don't like to clean that much now cause i am pretty busy being online. but when the dirt and the mess is hardly bearable and the home is just a mess and really bothers me then i have to clean my place around me and to keep the place tidy. i wll clean and sweep the dirt off from floors and table. one thing i hate is table full of stuff that shuold not be there. i always make sure that my table does not have many stuff on it. i put those stuff in to there respective places. cause it is nice to see our place in right order and alle very thing in its place. it makes my computer or internet time more enjoyable when i see that my homne is clean and there is no mess around. but when the palce is untidy i feel that my motivation to be active online is decreased or affected. so no matter how much i don't want to be affected by the mess in my home i do get affected and so i have to clean and tidy my place even if i don't want to if i wanted to be able to post more a lot online and to get or stay online and enjoy my internet time.

I spend only about an hour cleaning up the house. I've found that if you don't mess up the house, then... There is nothing to clean up. The occassional cleaning up the toilet or sweeping, then your good.

I spend total of 5-10 minutes a day with cleaning including making dishes. 90 minutes sounds like part time job to me.... I spend 3 hours once a week to clean my house.

I think you have to know your friend Youless is very lazy. She doesn't like doing housework such as cleaning the house. So if I have to clean my house, it will take a few days:) I love China

Wow! Great topic, IMO anyway! It used to really irritate me when I would clean up the kitchen and then have to turn around and do it all over again just a few hours later. I thought "what's the use in doing it then?" Now I realize it never gets 'done'... our entire lives are a 'work in progress' and the joy is in the journey, not the destination, since every 'ending' is a new beginning. So now I just take pleasure in everything I do - whether it is washing dishes, vacuuming the floor, sitting at my computer or working on some fantastically creative project... and if I am not inspired to action then I don't do anything, and just laze around daydreaming. So, some days I spend maybe 30 minutes or an hour doing cleaning chores, and some days I don't even spend 3 minutes cleaning anything. I would not want to never clean anything though! I LOVE cleaning stuff... it gives me such a sense of satisfaction! I have gone into the forest and 'cleaned' up the spring and the area around it! I rearranged the rocks and swept the sandy banks, hehehe.

I can generally get my house together in a little over an hour. But I usually clean as I go. That way the whole house thing doesn't take me too long.

Hi Positiveminded, I have never really thought about the amount of time as I do the house cleaning on auto pilot, for example, whilst waiting for the kettle to boil to make tea I might wipe the cupboard doors down or run the water for mopping the floor. I would say though on average an hour a day during the week, a blitz on Saturday and nothing at all on a Sunday other than the dishes from dinner. You are so right who wants to spend their life cleaning, so much more exciting things to be doing. Huggles. Ellie :D

I'm always wiping, sweeping and cleaning. Having a two-year old means that she and the house is never clean. I wipe the floor every week and that day, it took more than an hour. I do my cleaning in spurts. Sometimes I feel like cleaning and sometimes I let it be. But I do sweep the floor a couple of times a day. It takes a few minutes each time. My apartment is not very big, thank goodness. Cleaning the bathroom is another thing as well, I usually do it when I shower, takes about 15 mins each day. Reminds me of a story. My aunt tells me that his 6-year son often calls her a maid bec she's mopping, sweeping and cleaning and cooking and everything. LOL!
