Have you ever give up a special friend of yours?

I am currently a highschool student and it will be just a few months till we graduate but apart from that problem because I think I will have some nostalgia about our highschool years, I'm also being haunted by my regrets. I have a very special friend who I call special because he's the first one to realized my existence in school. You know, I'm not really friendly and I hardly made some friends. Usually, I made friends with odd persons and because of that, you could call me odd too but after I transfer to a certain school, a classmate of mine made friends with me. I remember the days when he always calls me to have some game with his friends and I did really appreciate that but seasons past by and our friendship soon faded away. Now, he has his own friends and I have my own too... But the thing is, I remember the days that he called me but I resist because I think that I don't belong and I'm practically satisfied with my odd friends. I just regret that I stayed with my odd friends while ignoring his efforts in making friends with me. Currently we're classmates and we are cold to each other and frankly speaking, I now want to make friends with him and I just miss his efforts, trying hard to make friends to a stupid person like me. What do you think of it? Sad or stupid?
