The religion didn't stop them from it...Why?

I've got my Christmas gift stolen in post today.Someone tore my package because they know that in this period people send some gifts from abroad. It was special gift and expensive too, sent by one of my fiends from Italy.I never thought a Catholic could steal my Christmas gift.A neighbour said to me:You can understand, their salaries are small. My salary is small too, but I don't steal!Defending thieves is against the law and the religion.I'm not sad, I'm angry and I can't forgive that person.I only wonder why are we taught not to steal if this doesn't stop from stealing? How could I call them Christians when they act like this?

That's very sad and i am sure god will punish those who stole this as it not something ordinary. They should not steal and specially Christmas gifts from whatever their background might be. I am sure God will also be angry to see that and i am sure it will surely hurt us a lot to think of this. This is Christmas time for enjoyment and people who try to get in the way are really jerks, they so respect for others feeling in what ever profession they are.

I hope they will be punished somehow so they won't be able to do the same again.I believe in justice.Thank you for your friendly response.

All I can say is that I feel truly sorry for you. I would have cried if something similar happened to me. Not only for the expensive gift (though that definitely does count very much with me) the very thought that someone sent it to me lovingly and I couldn’t even have a look, would have broken my heart.
And yes, no matter what they say about Christmas being the season of forgiving, I couldn’t have forgiven that person, either.

Hi silvercoin, I am very sorry that this happened to you, especially at Christmas, but it does happen all the time. Many people don't take their religion very seriously and some don't believe in it at all. I agree with you that a small salary doesn't give anyone the right to steal. I hope that you will still have a happy Christmas dispite all of this. I hope too that you will find it in your heart to forgive the person because that is also the Christian thing to do. Blessings.

A thief can't be religious, anyway he or she did harm to herself/himself.
Merry Christmas.

Was it stolen from in front of your home or something? You can ask fedex or UPS to keep packages at the post office until you are able to pick them up instead of having them dropped off at your house. I do that everytime i have a big package coming and i know i won't be home to get it.

You're right, with UPS it would have never dissapeared, it was the last time I trusted the lithuanian post services.everything that is so-called "national" or belongs to state,is completely destroyed and nobody cares about quality at all.
Thanks.

First of all, I'm really sorry that happened. It would just ruin the holidays, wouldn't it? I think the person who did that was really stupid. I mean, it's Christmas and people deserve to keep the presents that they receive! I think the theif was probably not Christian or Catholic, and they probably don't celebrate Christmas. If they do, then that's worse. They also probably don't care about others and are really selfish. If everyone who didn't earn much stole then that would be horrible. I would NOT forgive that person but that's just me. I don't forgive people that easy. But I still think that's really terrible. I hope you still enjoy your holidays despite this. Merry Christmas!

Every country, every religion has bed guy. It's usual. You only can do is that protect yourself, your family, your presents. Improve your sense of safety. That's the best way you could do. Although you are very sad, as we all know, you couldn't steal other gifts. If you be caught, this situation would lose face.
