A friend of mine was telling me that she dislike cabbage. This conversation triggered childhood memories. I still have vivid dreams of my mother forcefully pouring fresh tomatoes syrup which she had made, into my mouth. I still remember being made to sit to eat liver because she said it was essential and beneficial for my growth. Which food do you dislike?

There is only one "common" food on this earth that I refuse to eat and that's rhubarb. (Or Satan's Celery as I like to call it!) I was sick from it as a child once and ever since then I can't stand the sight of it. Aside from rhubarb, I am pretty adventurous when it comes to food.

Yuck, tomato syrup? I guess she forced you to take your vitamins that way. We used to eat liver when I was young because of the iron that it provided. Now for many years I have not eaten liver because it also stores all the toxins in the body of the animal. Now I don't eat any offal or innards at all. Chicken liver, gizzards, hearts of any animal, tripe, pig's tails, ox tails, pig's ears, chicken feet, anything with bones attached such as veal shanks. and ribs. When I was a child I disliked spinach because of the way it was made and consumed. In my family it was cooked and then ground up and served with fried eggs sunny side up. To me it always looked like cow poop and the eggs like some live eyes looking up at me. Now I love spinach but I cook it shredded, with onions and garlic, barely wilted and served with sour cream. To this day I dislike fried eggs sunny side up. If I am served fried eggs, I ask for them to be flipped over

When I was younger I was forced to eat foods I didn't like and I was forced to eat all
of the food on my plate. I have always had a weight problem and I say it was because of
the way I was made to eat. So when I had my children I never ever forced them to eat
something they didn't like and I never forced them to eat when they didn't want to.
Now because of that my kids will eat pretty much anything. I think the only thing they
would only eat a little of was liver and onions. But they would eat a little of it because
they weren't forced to, I think.
I personally, like anything and will eat pretty much anything although it has to be
something healthy as I don't eat junk food.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I never hate any food. I don't know why, whatever food is prepared, I eat that. I never mind whether it is my favorite or not. I like taste of every vegetables. As I am a Non-vegetarian, I eat lot of non-veg foods. Especially, I like the Fish.

On the contrary, I like liver and tomatoes:) I just don't like bitter vegetables. Here we do have some bitter vegetables and some people really like them. They say it's very healthy. I pay attention to the taste much more, so I won't like anything that taste bitter.
I love China

How about bitter melon? I buy it in the Chinese grocery store. I don't really like it that much but I take it for medicinal purposes.

I really don't like cauliflower. For some reason I just can't find myself to ever eat it. It looks like a fake broccoli with no taste.

No taste? You have probably had it overcooked. I like it steamed with a sprinkling of spice blend and garlic powder. Do not overcook, it should have a tiny bit of crunch left in it. If this is not enough, a nice cheese sauce should interest you.

Oh I hate liver too, I remember them giving it to me when I was in the hospital, I tried it, and it seemed like the more I chewed it, the bigger it got in my mouth, and that was it, I spit it out and I never tried to eat it again, and the texture of it isn't good either..lol.

I think you might dislike your mother too. I've never been a fan of liver either, screw that its healthy for you, I can find other ways to substitute that stuff. I like tomatoes though, soup, on BLT's and on my salad. Cabbage is pretty gross and if I had to eat it I would probably barf it up as a protest.

Hello ronaldinu,
I probably won't eat exotic foods, like snakes, cats, etc. I eat liver once in a while but I haven't tried it with tomato sauce. It must taste very bad. Most fruits and vegetables I like to eat. There are different kind of food cooking and some I don't like, like using spices that I am not familiar with.
Regards.

Hi there ronaldinu
I was made to eat liver when I was a child too. I think my parents thought I was just being fussy but I genuinely didn't like it and still don't! I do like it in pate though, I think it is mainly the texture I don't like rather than the flavour. I don't like sweetcorn either. Can't stand the smell of it, texture or the taste especially tinned sweetcorn!

Tripe and parsnips. Strangely enough I do not mind the taste of parsnips when cooked correctly but I have it in my mind I do not like it. I am sure you could mask the taste of tripe with enough spices and sauce but I do not like the texture.
Anything that involves insects. Thanks but no thanks. I know mealworms are highly nutritious but I would rather feed them to my chickens and filter them through their digestive system and eat the chickens. I suppose snails also fall into this category.
I have never eaten raw oysters nor raw fish. I know this is popular but I guess I have never been desperately hungry enough to try them. The same goes with rare meats. I cannot stomach steak with the blood running out of it, it has to be cooked. When I read about someone getting a disease or parasite from eating raw seafood it just reinforces my resolve not to partake of raw seafood or sushi.
