They say education is the only thing our parents could bestowe unto us, and that this is a treasure no one could ever stole from you. That this is a piece cultivated within us, and that it grows everyday. Many says it is our only tool to find a good living, to uplift ourselves, to brighten our future. But then, I do admit it is very tiring, I sometimes think who had this idea, to educate people, and I consequently hate him/her for this. But I have this great appetite to finish college, to be called as a professional, to be a degree holder. I don't know why, I just like the idea. You? How much would you like to be a degree holder?

I so scared of the same thing. I'm scared that I leave school and then I'm not going to be able to do anything with my degree (I'm majoring in English). I think that you have to have confidence in yourself and look at all of the different options that you'll have available to you. You might not be able to start out on the top from the beginning but remember that you have to work har to get there. Try to use the knowledge that you got in school to the best of your abilities and apply it to whatever profession you are pursuing.

I get sad when I hear that people want to go to college but cannot afford to. You have very good advice. I hope that one day your financial situation will put you in the position where you are able to pay for college.
Just remember that you can still make something of yourself by using your strengths and talents to the best of your abilities. There are plenty of people who did not go to college but went to vocational schools and things like that. Because they had expertise in their vocation they were able to get good paying jobs. My mother's friend never finished High School but he worked for the MTA (the New York Transit system) and worked his way up the ranks and makes about $6,000 a week or month I can't remember which. Look at the opportunities that are available to you and make the best of them. Take care.

Oh yeah I would love to have a nice masters on my hand. To be called Dr. that would be so cool. The problem with me is that I don't really study anything which is very bad. But somehow I end up doing better than almost everyone. Like in high school I skipped school for two semesters in my final year and came out in the top. People were wondering how I did it. Ha I guess it's God but yeah I would love to be a professional.

I am 24 and only now finding out what I want to be. I am sorry that it took me so long late in the game, but am happy that I found out nonetheless. Also, All that time that some would consider wasted, was used to find myself. Those classes I took were not wasted because no education is wasted education. I have about 6 more classes until I can transfer as a junior to the university for my major in psychology. I want to keep moving up the ladder and raising the knowledge of my field. It may take some time, but it will all be worth it in the end. The only major goal I have right now is to continue with my education and walk into my career with a Masters or Doctorate. Having a degree is the most important thing when wanting to feel like you accomplished something. I would feel like I have earned my career because of everything I went through.

I totally agree with you. I'm 21 but I'm not completely sure what I want to do with my life career-wise. I'm going to get a degree in English simply because I was always good at writing and I'm hoping that I can make something of it but I still have to do wat you did, find myself. I've never had a job before and I think that's why I'm not sure what I want to do so after I get out of school I want to try different things and see if I can find my calling. Then I can go back to school later on. The reason I didn't wait to go to college was because I always heard that it's hard to go back and many people who leave High School and don't go straight to college don't end up going. I wanted to make sure I went and got at least my first degree. Plus I was getting a free ride to college and I wasn't going to throw that away if it was just handed to me.
Congratulations on finding what you want to do. I don't think that your time was wasted because you found what you want to do. And, who ever said there was a time limit to success? Although I took many classes and I'm not sure if I'll be able to do anything with my degree, at the same time I don't regret it because I've learned something from every single class that I took. Plus, there are plenty of people who got a degree in something but then didn't end up working in that field.
Take care.

I should hopefully be graduating with my first degree (Bachelors) next year. It has been a lot of hard work and there were several times along the years where I've felt like I just wanted to give up, that I just want it to be over. There were actually several times this past semester when I did not sleep at all at night because I was up all night doing work and then I had to go to school the next day. I always remind myself that the hard work is going to pay off in the long run and if I work hard now I won't have to work so hard when I'm older. I feel that after my goal is achieved (or at least I'm hoping) the success will be even sweeter.
I don't think I could ever hate education though and I don't think that there was just one person that decided to "create" education. We start learning from the moment that we are born. It's something that we cannot avoid and it's something that is needed for us to be able to survive. Everyday is a learning experience and I think that everyone should be thankful for being able to have the opportunity to learn something new. I do admit that sometimes I wish that everything came easy and that this studying wasn't necessary because I feel like there is so much in the world that I could be enjoying, so much of life that I could be missing out on.
I'm very thankful for the opportunity to go to college though because there are so many things that I've learned that they don't teach you in High School and before that. That said though, there are many people who don't have the opportunity to go to college but are still able to make a good living for themselves. College is not the only way but these people make the most of the skills that they do have and still learn, just not on a college campus.
I'm glad that you have motivation to go on and get your degree even though it's hard. Good luck with everything. Take care.

More than a year from now hopefully, i will be graduating college. I really want to finish college. There are times i feel tired that i dont want to study anymore. Sleepless nights, never ending paper works, waking as early as 3am because of hospital duties, and bunch of quiezzes, exams and assignments kept me stressed. But now, im starting to get used to the routine. Just enjoy what you do it will keep you surviving. Having an inspiration will help you keep going. In time, hard works will be paid. :)
