My rating went down drastically yesterday.

It can be quite disappointing to see our ratings go down for no clear reasons. Unfortunately this is a fact of life in myLot. It has happened to many members. If we ask for one real reason we will not got any. The fact is there are various reasons for us to receive negative ratings. Someone may be doing it at random, but this does not lead to a big drop. Something that you wrote could have P****d off a group of people. There are also people who do not like to have their opinions contradicted. On the surface they appear nice and sometimes ask the opinions of other people. What they wanted to do is to 'prove' is people like us are stupid and ignorant. Your pleading may fall on deaf ears. What you should do is to be careful in the way you present your viewpoints. all the best, rosdimy

Hey, sanuanu, I too got negative rating and from 92 points, I have gone down to 84 points, atleast you recovered well enough from your loss. Anyways, I didn't knew about this ting we are able to see our rating by putting our cursor in front of our star, thanks for sharing the information. Hope I will soon get back to 9 stars again. It might be because I am inactive from quite a few days from now!!

You know what, that also happened to me. I just recently was enjoying the 10 star mark then yesterday I saw it became a 9 again. Anyhow, I'm not worried. I'm just thinking that perhaps someone was insulted by me.

Don't fret, sanuanu. It is a common phenomenon for those person experienced this kind of under-rating, I've experienced this a year ago when am enjoying red-star and just waiting for another one point to enjoy blue-star. Members rated me '-ve' too much till myLot staff helps me controlled its plummet to silver. To gain back one level to the current yellow-star, it took me a very long time till I no longer feel much interest about my star color. So keep going and enjoy your earnings on myLot. I never blame that member who rated me '-ve'(I know who she is) and I enjoy responding to her posted new discussion without botheration. Our weakness as myLot member, we are the victim of myLot reputation system. Where members are the king to judge for '+ve' or '-ve', MANDATORY.

I think you should not be disappointed. It happened with me also. System is like that you would even don't who and why the negative rating was given. At least there should be some clarification what is the reasons for negative so that the member can try to improve, otherwise t will keep on going and rating will keep on reducing.

Is that someone can rate you? I thought the star comes out when your posts increase to 100 and more. And the more ,the better message you post, your rate would go up. Right now you are saying it's a matter of other people. I'm just getting more confused with the star...anyways, I hope I can get the star!!!

Either there was a temporary glitch or you read it wrong. There's no way your rating could drop that much in one day, even if one or two people decided that they don't like you. And today, it shows that you lost only one point and you have a rating of eight. Whenever there's a problem on Mylot, it's a good idea to wait a few hours or even a day or so before deciding to complain.

Today it is 76/100..i think any of your discussion that you have written would not have been liked by many over here and they would have rated it as negative or some of the discussion that you have written would have been under the guideline violation so only your ratings must have gone down and i think your quality postings will again make your ratings go up.dont worry you will get your ratings again..i have also had experiences like this in the past because of some stupid posts i lost nearly twenty points...Happy mylotting..

I've never noticed this. I don't rate people, neither negative nor positive. I just think it's meaningless. I'm sure every body comes here with the purpose of exchanging ideas, and I really appreciate their responses. So I don't rate.

Sorry, sanuanu, may you regain the rating you are wishing for. I cannot say if my ratings go up or down because I do not watch them, I'm sorry to say but I suppose I should. I get a bit carried away at times and am swept away in the thrill of the post. I will try to become more aware.

hi sanuanu, I never experience that my rating goes down, maybe you made someone mad at you the way you respond the discussion thats way they rate you negatively. I dont really care about my ratings here for it always go up and down. Just dont mind them and to what you like to do, and be friendly in responding a discussion.

that is common. as there are many people posting everyday , so their rate increase, then yours decrease.

I understand completely san, despite of tremendous effort and trying to be descriptive of our answer we were misunderstood I guess with other mylotters. On the contrary mine is up. And just like you I am thingking what have I done, for a quick changed. I am just very thankful to all mylotters. You deserved the best. Good luck!

this things always happen once i had reached red star and now i am stuck with this silver one occasionally i get to see yellow one but it will go away next day. It is like someone keep watching me and if i am getting better he will under rate me. i have been more careful ever after i got negatives. i feel sorry for you too. i know how hard it feels after all the good work some senseless rating just destroy your reputation. As you said i think the '-' hitter must have to give reason for it. If it is genuine at least we can correct it.

Hmm. I'm not sure about that and I never check about rating. As far as I concern, I've never gave a negative rating to anybody. If some one feel that they don't agree with me and give me a negative rate, it's their right and their choice. I believe what have don't will reflected back us, this also applied to other. If they rate us negative, one day other people will rate them that way. Just take it calm and let it go, let's make more friends. BR.b
