faced a problem can anyone help me out please

i movies in a dvd which when i try to play on my computer either takes a long time or
the most worse the computer restarts i tried playing them most of the times but the same problem is faced
while the same dvd plays in all my friends computers
there are no scratches on the dvd or any problem with it
i also have the latest codecs installed on my pc the configuration of my pc is even good to do the job
but i dont any clue of what the problem is
can anyone help me out..plz

you should install latest power dvd software or an universal player to play the movie

Its the DVD drive or your OS at fault.If you have a good enough configuration, DVD movies should play well on your system. But if it is not, clean your DVD writer's head using a lens cleaner. But if you have noticed that your DVD writer's performance is low, i mean, it takes much more time to write DVDs, when you copy something from DVD or write a DVD your system goes too slow, etc then it might be your OS at fault. Let me know if this happens and if it does, which OS are you using?

I think you should clean the lens with a cd cleaner.After that if the problem persists then I think you should go to the respective service centre. It would be better option as self engineering may harm your PC.

no my dvd rom is new and its working good with other discs but this one restarts my pc while this same dvd plays well in other pcs
