Rain water is the purest form of water you receive. It can be taken for drink with all regards. In fact it is more tasty than all the packaged mineral waters. But there is one thing to keep it in mind.It is good to have it in a rainy season. And it is to avoid rain waters to drink if the rain is an unseasonal one or it is the first rain in a rainy season.Because it will be accompanied by all the pollutants in the sky.Otherwise it is better to drink rainwater.Cheers!

you have a good point about collecting water during the rainy season only, srganesh. however, considering how much farm plantations resort to the use of chemicals these days, i doubt it if i can collect rainwater free of unfriendly chemicals even during the rainy season. you are not alone though in the drinking habit involving rain water because, i drink some too when i am at the farm.

Rain water is okay. Unless it is acid rain. But you can't tell by looking at it. It needs to be tested.

I think I would have said yes years ago. I am not sure how safe is today to drink though with so many contaminants in the air.

it depends on the location and time ........
for example if you consider a place near industries it consists of some chemical particles like(sulphur, nitrate ,carbon etc)in the open sky during the first rain not in literal sense ,i mean its the first rain for that particular season all the chemicals will come with the rain water so now this is dangerous and not advisable for drinking at any cost this could turn out into acid rain when the chemicals are at highest ratio
but if you normal residence area it is advisable to drink after you boil the water but try to avoid the first rainfall
i think you can use rainwater for washing because they are soft water suitable for removing stains from your clothing ........

Yes, sometimes. It depends the weather around, rain can wash the air so if the weaher around is poisonus the rain will be poisonus. But still the rain can contain the dust of the air so we'd better not drink rain if fresh water is available.

when i was young, rain water used to be the best water to drink. now, we are told that it is not wise to be doing this. the environment has been so destroyed by humankind with activities that have been committed with taking the necessary cautions.
there is so much pollution in the air already. what happens is, the pollutants are being brought down with the rain when it takes place. therefore, if we drink rain water as we have collected them raw, we will also be taking in all that comes with as it dropped into our containers.
however, i still drink rain water until this time when i am at the farm. although i know that i run the risk of taking in some pesticide and fungicide residues when i do so. we are aware that people do make use of these chemicals so wantonly by now.
