ok..being that i am very behind the times..myself and my 13yr old still have GameBoy SP's to play on.
she says that BOTH gameboy's have to have the game cartridge in order to play against each other via the link cable thingy.
can anybody tell me if this is true? can we both play via the cable while only ONE OF US has the actual game cartridge? or is 2 cartridges a must for it to work at all?

Gameboy Advance games? I am 99 and 1/2 percent sure that you need two cartridges. Nintendo loves to make technology difficult, incovenient, and always holding out for more money.
Even most of the Nintendo DS games require two cartridges, although there are a few on DS. No wires needed, either.
