A friend of mine told me that repeated formatting will slow down the processor speed of my system. How far is his statement true? I repeatedly format my system, so I am worried...Please reply.

Formatting can never cause any harm to any part of your computer. Only you will be effected by loading the OS, all the softwares and configuring them again and again. The two type of formatting(high level formatting) that one can do is quick format and full format. Both ways, nothing will happen to your hardware.

Formatting the system freshens up the Hard Disk, so you need not worry. Even though you format a lot, the condition of your system still depends on how you run your programs. If you multitask up to 11 applications all at once, then you're processor is up for blowout.

Formatting is nothing about the processor of your computer. The only thing it could affect is your hard disk. Formatting can be divided into noraml formatting and basic formatting. for Normal formating, it wouldn't do any harm to your hard disk. Yet basic one could. so you'd better not do it frequently.

It is completely false. Formatting doesn't have anything to do with processor speed because it is process of filling your hard disk with zeroes which mean there is nothing on your hard disk. Don't worry! There isn't an easy way for a computer beginner to slow down the processor speed (downclocking).
Merry X-Mas!
