How do get traffic to your blog?

I have just started blogging 2 months ago. The 1st month I was the only one visiting my blog. The last two months the traffic increased double! I start to join local and international forum and from there other bloggers start coming to my website. Then I join traffic exchange and entrecard. These two are quite tedious and time consuming but I don't mind because it's a learning proses for me. I have a niche but there is no focus on it yet. So how do you get traffic to your blog or website?

Hi there! Getting traffic is one issue, getting people to comment a post is another issue all together. But 1st thing 1st. To me getting the traffic is priority number one. You cannot determine if the visitors are quality or not but the more visitors you get the higher the chances of getting comments. Apart from that i try to write as general as possible so that it will cater to all readers. If you write on fishing, I won't be interested to comment because it does not interest me right, but if you write about blogging stuff, I will definitely comment. From the comments that we get we will know what really attract people to comment on our blog. That could be a niche you know. Cheers!

Traffic exchange traffic is non-value traffic. you shall focus on SEO and SMO to get natural traffic. rticle submission, forum posting, video submission can bring you good traffic if you able to write unique quality content. traffic generation is a tricky part of working online

now, there are countless ways to generate traffic
but as stated already traffic exchanges are worthless in terms of targeted traffic, which is what you want.
using social networks is the flavour of the moment for traffic and it does work.
my new blog gets all its visitors from the social scene and in just a week i'm into double figures.
not great but a good start...
i am sure mylot is not the only network your on... do you use twitter? its very effective
after social networks, bookmarking is next.. stumbleupon, digg etc.
rss feed your blog, in todays market instant updates are becoming vitality important
to your success as a blogger
article submission is great too but with PLR content taking over , getting published has become a gauntlet of sorts
these are just common sense free methods and your likely to be aware of them by now but are you using them? thats the big question.
the only alternative is to buy traffic with PPC
if your seo is on target and you create your brand with social networking the hits will come
