The wife got me the box set of "Family guy." That kind of sums me up. Me and my 7 year old daughter peeing ourselves laughing because Stewie killed Lois!
Had my 79 year old mother round for xmas dinner. Had to say everything 3 times in a loud voice....god bless her! lol!
Managed to get rid of her before the good programmes started! lol! (only kidding!)

It waan't that bad. I got some nice things. The thing that made this the worst Christmas ever is, because in April I lost my job and have been living on unemployment, I wasn't able to do any Christmas shopping. All my money goes to the bills. I know for a fact that next year, I will have a job and I will make up for it. I almost, in a way, can't wait for next Christmas just so i can go back to buying gifts for everybody.

I am in the same situaion as you. I have been out of work since June. I did not buy any gifts at all, and there is no special Christmas dinner. I guess we will eat whatever. I am sick today with a cold, I think, hope it does not develop into the flu. I have been in the bed most of the day with a fever.
I hope next year is a better year too.

I was hoping that somebody would start a discussion about what they got for Christmas, and you did. I did have a good Christmas except the kids got up in the middle of the night and opened their gifts without mom and dad. Oh well, I told them that they would be working off their crime for the next year.

It sounds like you had a fun and happy day. I did too. We hosted Christmas this year. My husband cooked roast turkey and pork with vegies etc on his Weber. My Mum brought some beautiful ravioli as she's Italian and an amazing cook, along with rice salad and Russian salad. She cooked the peas and heated up the ravioli; all I had to do was make some gravy which I managed to ruin! Cooking of any kind is not my forte. My sister kept up our supply of Margaritas so a great day was had by all!

Its gonna be tough to have a worse Christmas than this year...I've been unemployed since September (granted I only just graduated from College and my work pass got denied but still!), I was unable to be with my family and girlfriend of 3 years because of visa issues and on TOP of that I had a cold..
But I did get the SWEETEST gift from my girlfriend on Christmas day:) I had spent most of the day pretty miserable (and posting on myLot to distract myself!) and that evening there was a knock at the door and my girlfriend had ordered me a gourmet dinner to eat (online from halfway around the world!), so at least I would have a nice meal on Christmas even though I was on my own and not with her :'-)

Yes and no. I told my son I wanted a big cooking fork and he got me a spatula! My other son didn't send anything because we were going to go to his house, but a big , huge storm came in and we couldn't go. Same for My sister. My daughter is mad at me and so sent nothing. My husband and I bought a used car that has to be shipped so we haven't got it yet. We did hang up stockings and put silly things in them. that was fun. We went to a neighbor's for dinner and I took her grandchildren little books. It was a fun day, but just screwed up because of the weather. this has been the most imperfect Christmas I have ever had. but, it was still nice.

I have to laugh because my kids love family guy too, they are 8 and 6 and although I am not much for it they really seem to enjoy it! Our xmas day was OK, my hubby and I made this deal that none of us would go on our computers for the whole day and although I found that really hard I enjoyed getting down on the floor and playing dolls and tea parties with my daughter! We did not have xmas dinner we had party nibbles instead which was lovely and we watched a few programmes in the evening so it was a good day in all.

My christmas was well spent. Every year it is different. It was on the quiet side. It started with a church service which I thorouhly enjoyed. Then my husband prepared dinner and it was great. We had planned to have 3 visitors over but only one came nevertheless we as a small family of three ate in style. As a matter of fact we used pieces from a new silver cutlery set that my mom gave us for a gift. Would you believe that I do not remember what we were celebrating when we got it .Anywitay things like these happens and I am glad we were able to use them. It was my husband who took them out so this added to our dinning. I spent hours reading different articles and getting familiar with my lotters, then went to bed. I should hightlight that I spoke to my mother in New York who was celebrating her79th birthday and my sister who went to see her a friends.

Hello there!
I did not gain any gifts, but I was happy to be able to spend the Christmas with my close family, having a meal and enjoying the night. But it wasn't much different from any other day, it was just different because of the meal. There were some fireworks where I live, and my dog got really scared, he started shaking in fear. I wonder how will we handle it again in New Year, because the fireworks then are really really worst.
I'm glad you had your mother for dinner. I hope I have my mother to dine with us for a long, long time!
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

That was so bad, LOL!
I'm laughing so hard over here right now, I can imagine what my kids will say about me too at 79. But I have to say, it made my day today.
"Managed to get rid of her before the good programmes started! lol! (only kidding!)." Are you still hoarse?, haha.
I got all kinds of goodies for Christmas and it was so much fun. Went over my sister's where everyone gathers on Christmas Eve. My Granddaughter was just soooo funny...she will be "2" in February. By the end of the night she looked like a wild woman with her hair all over the place. She enjoyed jumping around in all the paper like Fall leaves, throwing it around up in the air and just giggling all the way, and just had so much energy all night! Oh, how I wish I still had that energy.
She was what you call, a surprise baby (everyone is grown up right now), and it really sparked up the family and makes us all act like kids again. She's just beautiful and we love her to pieces.
Kids and Christmas, ya can't beat it. I'm glad to hear yours was just great too!

A belated Merry Christmas to you. I had a nice day. I went to services at the Episcopal church and afterward spent a quiet day with those of us who live in the same household. Today, 12/26, I'm going to my sister's where their will be 17 people having dinner and creating much ado. The ages range from 83 to 3.
