I have never had a friendship request on MyLot rejected, although I have pending friendship requests that are months old and still pending. Meanwhile I see the friend I have requested friendship with has been active within the last week.
I am not sure what is going on there. I have not received a rejection notice of any kind but the request still shows pending.

Perhaps.
Or they just don't see the links at the top of the page showing that they have "friends(1)" request.
Not sure.

Sometimes people like to wait to see what someone is like before adding but I can't see the point and I am more than happy to add newbies, as it helps them increase the amount of discussions to respond to and people to respond to theirs.

Well, I can't remember rejecting anybody's request of friendship here. Anybody who requested me to be a friend I always accept them even if they are new. For the fact that they invited me, that means they liked me? LOL..I can't even remember their names. I have a lot of friends invitations that I accepted. But one thing I don't like when people invited me for the purpose of asking me to be their referrals and they keep of sending me email pleading to be their referrals? I don't like it. there was one time that I deleted some friends who keep on bothering me with their requests. I'm sorry for them but I don't like it.

I hate to play the bad guy, but I occasionally reject requests. I don't feel like if I post a short comment under someone they really want to be my friend. I think they are just looking to get more activity to their posts or who knows what else. I have a lot of friends (at least I would say I do) from when I used to accept every request. I would rather only have the friends of people who share similar interests or frequently discuss the same topics here.

Hi there, don't worry - I don't rate you as the bad guy. I would not personally reject anyone's request but I completely understand your point of view in that you are keeping friendships with people who probably want to talk about the same things as you! Nothing wrong with that - happy myLotting!

I never reject any friend request as we are here to help each other. I recently deleted some people from my friends list but only because they had hardly posted and had not been on for over 6 months.
I was deleted myself and the excuse the person gave was because she felt we didn't have enough interests in common. I think she was only interested in having friends who responded to every discussion she started, as I responded to probably about half of them but no one is going to have the exact interests and be able to respond to every discussion, it's just not possible and I don't expect all my mylot friends to respond to every discussion I start.

Hi foxfire, thanks for the response. I agree - you can delete people later if it is really needed.
Yes, there is no way you can respond to every single post a friend has - it would just be mindless! Either that, or you should be friends in real life if you have that many common interests!

Nope, I usually don't invite friends on myLot anyway - I only do it when I need to send private messages to them hehe but I've also never rejected anyone also. myLot isn't really a social networking site that shows private information about yourself so I don't understand why anyone would reject friend requests.
Thanks for the comment on my discussion!

It never happened to me and I hope it won't. I don't see a reason fro rejecting someone's request. It won't hurt me if I accept every single request. It's nice to see a lot of friends on my friend list!
