I can't, I can type only seeing the key board. I can type nearly 30-40 key words in a minute by seeing key board. I think most people are like this only. Once I practiced to type with out seeing key board but I can't.

I tend to not look at the keyboard when I'm typing, mostly because looking at my hands adds to what I'm thinking, and will slow me down because I have to split the process of typing with the process of reading something that is unrelated to what I'm typing.:) So, I can hit 50-90 words per minute if I'm not looking, but will slow down to about 35 words per minute if I look at the keyboard, just to make sure I'm not typing something else. I also spend a lot of time typing in the dark, where you really can't see your keyboard. ;)

Hey, Yes I can type without seeing the keyboard. Before, I was like most people. I could only type about 25 words per minute and I had to look at my fingers when I would type. It would irritate me so much when I would see people younger than me typing away at a nice pace and not even having to look at their fingers when they were typing. Then I decided enough was enough and I wanted to learn how to touch type. One day someone introduced me to MSN and that is the day I got addicted. Ever since then, my typing speed has more than doubled and I can easily type around 60 words per minute. So if you want to learn how to type without looking, firstly practise typing "asdf;lkj" without looking. Then slowly add other letters such as "asdfg;lkjh". It is recommended that you get a picture that shows you which fingers type what keys. Hope this helps you out! Thank you!

Hi coolmailraj, I can type all the 26 key words of the alphabets, coma, full stop, back space and delete button only without looking at the keyboard correctly, whereas the rest, I’m still not familiar with them yet and have to type with looking at them. I still remember when I was a newbie here, my typing skill is very poor and could manage to type solely a few words without looking at them. I find Mylot actually is the best site for us, who login and write our posts here frequently to enhance our typing skill. I believe if I could keep on working here daily for some time, surely I could type more keywords accurately without looking at the keyboard. Besides, both the spelling and the writing skill improve a little as well. If we could manage all these nicely our typing speed would improve a lot as well. posting and have a great day.

Hello coolmailraj. There is not much problem with me to type without having to look at the keyboard if I use my own laptop, but once I have to use another computer, then it is a different story. Take care, friend.

I do type without looking at the keyboard, but that is how I was trained to do it. There are times when I do look I am sure, but I have no trouble typing in the dark without mistakes. I also type quickly. Not as fast as I used to but still about 65 to 70 words per minute, and that seems pretty fast to me. I have a friend who types over 100 wpm and learned on a manual typewriter!!! Whew!!

I also can't type without seeing the keyboard. And my typing speed is low. When I have chat with my friend on internet, I often find some difficulties that I can't catch my friends' typing speed. Most people around me can type without seeing the keyboard. I tried to do that, but I failed. I am not used to the routine type menthod. That means when I type, my finger is not on the right keyboard. I think that affect my typing speed. Well, my friends told me that if you want to improve your typing speed, a better way is to have chat on internet.

Because of my addiction, I sort of memorized the placement of the letters in the keyboard. I type a lot everyday and I do a lot of stuffs that is why I sometimes don't glance at my keyboard to type. But when I'm typing using a different keyboard, I usually need to glance at it because it is not comfortable unlike typing in my own laptop. I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it.

Like you, I can't. I need to look at the keyboard while typing. I think those people who type without looking at the keyboard are called touch typist. I wish I can be like them. But, I tried to study it and I find it so hard to learn.

It does not really matter whether I type seeing the keyboard or not. I very used to doing both seeing the keyboard or without seeing the keyboard. I had many practices in my school days that I had to type without seeing the keyboard. There would be a time that I had to see the keyboard in order to type in my passwords on any Website I applied for as a login member.

I've been typing since 1972, when I learned typing on a typewriter, so I've never really looked at the keyboard while typing. I have had several jobs where I did a lot of typing...building databases and writing compute code...so I also type pretty fast. I haven't tested myself in a couple of years but I used to type about 70wpm.

Yes I can as long as my fingers start on the home keys,if not a lot of rubbish appears on the screen in front of me.My son was talking to me and I was still typing away and he laughed ,multi tasking I said something not many men know about,And I was watching the tea cook at the same time.It slows me down if I have to keep looking at the key board.

yes, actually, I can. Ever since elementary school they started training us on a program called type to learn. So I have gotten used to the keyboard, and let me tell you it is MUCH easier to type without looking once you get the hang of it.
