I was here sitting down watching a movie called the Christmas choir and there was a scene in the subway right away I recognized that station, it is the Place Des Arts metro station right here in Montreal, it was so exciting to see that. Have you ever had the opportunity to see your city or town in a movie, or has movies ever been filmed in your city or town?

Nope I have never seen my town in a movie. I have seen my state in one but never my town. I have seen it on television however because one of our cable channels is just for our local stuff..and when we have a festival or parades or beauty contest they are shown on there and so is all the sports.

Oh, man, yes! I'm from Baltimore, Maryland. Lots of movies have been filmed in Baltimore! The movie "Tin Men" was filmed right up the street from where I lived, well, the scene takes place in the jail house. Northern District Police Station was located just up the road from me and that's where they filmed that scene. The house where one of the main characters was supposed to have lived was just a few houses away from where my sister lived. That was quite exciting for her! We've had many movies filmed in Baltimore over the years. I've never met any of the actors but my cousin has. She was a Baltimore City Police Officer and was doing crowd control during the filming of Tin Men. She met Richard Dreyfus and was quite smitten by him. It is really cool to see a place you not only recognize in a movie, but have actually been to many times as part of your normal, everyday life.

WOW! You had me curious about just how many movies have been filmed, or partially filmed, in Baltimore and I found this web site that lists around 130 films! Some of them were very popular movies like, "There's Something about Mary, Tin Men, Species II, The Blair Witch Project", etc. Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/movies/bal-artslife-mdmovies07,0,955898.story

Yes, I did. Clint Eastwood did a movie here in Boise. Some of the scenes. Can't recall the name of the movie right now. Back twenty years or more. Might have been one of the ones with the monkey in it but not sure. I will have to check into that.

Actually yes we had a movie produced in our small town, it was quite exciting really, we got to watch how the movie was made, and meet some of the actors that were in it, they even got a few locals involved.. It became a tv show I do believe, I can't remember what it was called, but it was a sci fi tv movie.. After the movie was done and before they put it on the air, we were all invited down town for a free viewing of the pilot, they set up a big screen on the street, set up a popcorn machine, and we all brought our chairs and watched a free movie, it was great fun! That was about maybe a year or so ago... Tobius...

I actually haven't had the pleasure of being able to see any where I live in a movie. Probably won't ever too. But it would be very interesting to be able to say, "I know that place, I was there often."

I have never seen our city or town in a movie before. A movie was filmed not too long ago around here though. I think there were some scenes from a town that is about 5 miles from me, of a cave and a mine. I need to find out the name of the movie so we can see it.

There have been movies made in Austin. Outlaw Blues was one that I sat in and said things like "you can't get there from there" and "they went in in Waterloo Park and out under Mopac, not even the same creek" My former roomie was laughing with me and finally told me to shut up!

Being from New Orleans we have had a lot of movies made there, it is funny to see the places that are so familuar to you on screen. My husband was lucky to get to meet and watch Elvis film I believe it was King Creole in New Orleans. That was a huge thrill for him.

I remember one and that was October Sky and that one was filmed in Knoxville, Morgan Co., and Campbell Co., in 1998.. I don't remember seeing anything that I remember as being recognizable but my sister-in-law, who lives in Morgan County swears that she knew some of the scenery.. It would be great to be able to really see some of the scenery or places and be able to say for sure, "Hey I know that Place".. Sometimes the backdrops are so realistic that they can fool you with them but when you do recognize a place, it is nice.. Also a conversation starter among friends who have watched the movie with you..

Nothing has ever been filmed here, that I know of. The made-for-TV version of The Shining with Steven Weber and Shelley Long was filmed at the actual hotel that inspired the story (King renamed it the Overlook but it's actually called the Stanley and the Ghost Hunters spent Halloween night there a couple of years ago). In 2003, there was a tenth anniversary party for the movie Dazed and Confused that included a tour of the places in Austin, Texas where the movie was filmed. I missed the official tour but my then-fiance took me to a few of the places. I was in lower downtown Denver (LoDo) while they were filming for MTV's The Real World Denver and followed the camera crew following a girl out of the house. And I was watching an episode of The Real World Austin and a couple of the people on the show walked right in front of the art supply store where the aforementioned fiance's brother worked.

Not exactly because my place is not that attractive to the movie makers but once I could see a place which is near to my city. It was 1000 years old school, which is now a tourist place. I was become very excited when I see this scene in that movie.
