Really interesting dream - any ideas if it means anything

I had a REALLY interesting dream.
I dreamt that there was this guy, he was like a lord from another dimention. He came over to a world much like ours. He was kind of a medievil sort of dimention but magic worked and they knew about our world, sort of.
It seems that his daughter had run away and he thought she might've come here.
He had/made some friends here who were helping him look for her. Then, I started noticing that my dream had camera like actions.
Finally I noticed that he was striding down the street (he wasn't dressed funny, but had a different sort of gait than the other people) with a couple of the friends and this one guy kind of moved over and in front of this lady as they walked by.
My dream camera panned back and it turned out that it wasn't a guy, but the girl dressed like a man in a hat and everything. Then I followed her where she was sleeping in a broken down building and keeping a low profile.
Well, some how, he managed to get back together with her and convince her to come back home.
It seemed that she had majorly broken some rules and thought she was in deep trouble so she had run away. He told her that he loved her and that he needed her to come home where she would be safe. She told him that she was pretty safe here (well, she really could take care of herself, at one point she had taken out 2 guys that had attacked her and another she had rescued another runaway.)
So, she went home, and so did the other runaway, but they were going to write and maybe visit. Someone started to get angry because she was wearing some of the clothes from this world back at home and her dad told them to leave her alone.
My dream finished with her going out to the stable to go for a ride...
I seldom have dreams so complete, wrap up so nicely and then remember them!
So, do you have dreams like this? I kind of felt that my dream had something in common with the book I'm reading, but I think the only thing they really have in common is that the book is set in NYC and my dream was kind of a TV/dream version of NYC. Oh, and one of the guys helping the dad was kind of like the cop in the book.
I have to say, that the dad looked kind of like Prince Caspian (I was watching the Christmas parade from Disney this morning at my client's and saw him.)

Dreams usually come from our subconscious. So little things we are thinking about before bed will sometimes reflect what we dream .
I have very vivid dreams sometimes , and some are very scary. I have been able to fly in my dreams , among other things. The weirdest ones is where I have realized I was dreaming and was able to control the dream .
Dreams are a lot of fun sometimes but the night terrors are horrible . I think we work through some of our issues through dreams.

[b]Hello from your "client!"
You already know my dreams are never so sensible, & I seldom recall them, either. Heck, I wish I could! Some of my crazy dreams, I know, would make good stories! Yours sounds as though it certainly would!
Hee...suddenly had a flashback: that strip from Peanuts, with Snoopy looking bored, but obliging Woodstock, his little bird pal, as the latter is in hyper-drive in his funny looking slash marks "alphabet," going on & ON & on.... "CHEEP! Chirp peep peep chirp PEEP peep!" And Snoopy rolls his eyes & thinks, "WHY does everyone feel they need to tell you their dreams?"

I never had a dream as detailed as this. I suppose there is a reason for all of these dreams and the activities involved in them. Cheers!!

I generally don't remember my dreams either, and wish I had an idea where this one came from. If it was from anything I saw on TV, well besides watching the parade, we watched the new Little Mermaid: Return to the Sea at my clients, not exactly my dream, but on the other hand...

I'm not a dream analyzer, but I know dreams come from the subconscious mind. Not necessarily recent memories, but sometimes dreams can reach way back in time and pick this memory and that memory and combine them with recent events and/or concerns.
It could be that your subconscious was reassuring you that loving families exist everywhere/ That you shouldn't run from your mistakes/ however well you can take care of yourself it's good to let those who love you help. . .

In this case, it sounds like you were tired, and lots of little things from your day came in to play and entertain you.*S*

Well, you said it had elements of a book you were reading, and a show you watched, etc.

Hmm well I don't really have enough time to interpret your dream now, I could, but not right now. I can just give you a link to a site that will help you.
Just write in that search box every symbol you dreamt about like: girl, lord, street etc. Write them somewhere or copy & paste them on your computer and when you have them all just try to figure out the connection between them. You will see it all makes sense. Nothing is random.
I had quite a few dreams like that, and they all made sense. They reflected how I felt then, and showed me what I should do, or what I think, actually, I should do to correct the situation.
Here's the link:

Well I had some time and searched them now. I copied the meanings of the symbols on a word document on my computer. I could send you the document, but I'd need your email.
It's a bit too long to post all the meanings here, and plus I can't even paste, it would take me forever!
Oh, and you should tell me some more details, you didn't say anything about the surroundings, how was the weather? Was there light or dark? And was the man old? It makes a difference. By lord do you mean king or some sort? Did you know those people that he became friends with? And what kind of clothes did he wear? I wrote some meanings by guessing because I didn't know.
I hope you can interpret them :) If not, just tell me, maybe we'll figure it out together when I have time.

Wow! I'm jealous! I never have nice dreams like this that I can remember when I wake up. I'm always hearing about friends/family having these dreams but never me. Unfortunately, I'm not one who can figure out what they mean.

I have quite a few dreams that I remember part of, but usually not all. Oddly enough though, over the past few months I have had at least 10 or so dreams that I rremember in full or in part, even now!
One, for example, is so vivid I can still taste it! My mom and my fiance and I, and maybe a couple other people, were at some event, not sure exactly what it was, but it had a bunch of those portable booths and various companies giving out samples of their snacks, candies and trail mixes. We split up and were wandering around to all these places and I still remember what some of the stuff tasted like. You could have as much as you wanted and try everything, provided there was some left, which we got there early enough that there usually was. My mom is, in real life, diabetic, and it carried to the dream, so she didn't eat much to manage her sugar. However, when we got back together, she gave me this piece of peanut butter candy that was unlike anything I'd ever eaten, in a dream or reality. Here's a little description of it. That was teh bulk of the dream. Tell me if this description sounds like anything you've heard of, cuz if it's real, my fiance and I want it!
It was shaped kind of like a chicklet, square and convex, but bigger than that. It was about the thickness of a normal sized plain M&M, maybe a little thicker. It had a candy coating like an M&M, but not quite as thick, and creamy peanut butter inside. The peanut butter tasted similar to a reeses pieces, but it didn't have quite as much sugar as reeses do, and the peanut butter was slightly different.
Every time I think about it, it makes my mouth water, as well as anyone I tell about it. lol. I wanna know if it's real!

I think your dreams were linked to what you were douing that night, you were reading a book and wacthing prince caspian, right. This happens to a lot of people they get dreams or nightmares based on what they were doing previously. For example, if you were shopping that day you would probably get a dream of being out in the open, riding on a pony, something, something...(Ungh! I'm sorry..I'm a boy)
or a nightmare of being chased about on the streets by someone who wants to annilate you and you can fly and escape.
Well, basically that's my idea although, I can't tell why you get dreams or nightmares. I'm not even that sure about the dream thing. Oh well,
Merry Christmas and an almost Happy New Year! :D

I'm listening to a book, The Bone Vault, in the car. I had seen the Disney parade that morning and one of the many people in the parade was supposed to be Prince Caspian (looked a lot like the actor who played the role too.) But the only thing about the book was that the dreamscape was set in a dream NYC and one of the guys helping dad was kind of like the cop in the book.
It was pretty odd, very vivid.

It sounds like you were putting a lot from your life into your dream, and rearranging it into a story. It sounds like a pretty good story too. Maybe you oughta write it out more intensively? See where it goes.

I've heard an awful lot of people talking about a "memory." So it almost has to be real, don't you think? Or could it be like a Sasquatch? A lot of people think it's real, but there's no positive proof?

The girl in your dream is you. The Father is your relative from different dimension, means spirit. The dream is warning you of possible problem or sickness, but you are going to take care of yourself.
There is someone from your childhood.... Whatever problem is going to be, you are going to solve it...The dream goal is also to make you calm if any problem emerge.
Clothes and places from book and TV is used, so you can remember the dream....
I would write it down. It is one of those dreams that may repeat soon...and be very similar in action.....
Camera like actions is often with time traveling...
Sometimes we can write a book based just on one dream...

It looks like polachicago knows what she's talking about. If you would like a second opinion, you could talk to Hermie (she is on your friends list). She interprets dreams as well.

Wow I sure envy you...I NEVER, and I mean NEVER remember any of my dreams, yet they (whoever THEY are) say we all dream. You're dream could possible be a combo of maybe that book you're reading and maybe whatever you may have watched just before going to bed...but hey, maybe it could spark a short story for you??? I remember reading that most of Stephen King's stories were based on his dreams/nightmares...yikes..sure glad I don't have his kind of dreams

Hi ElicBxn,
It seems that your dream was all mixed up with the book you were rading and the movie you were watching, so that explanes it.

But they really don't. The book is a mystery, just sent in NYC and had a cop who was kind of like the guy helping the dad in my dream.
And the dad just kind of looked like Prince Caspian, who I had seen in the parade. Really the dream had nothing to do with either the parade or the the book which is a murder mystery not a transdimentional run away story...

i would like to give you a suggestion....i think that you are capable of remembering well what you dreamed about..that is great because most of us can only remember parts of a dream once we wake up...you make a vivid detailing of your dream...why don't you develop a story out of your dream...go literary!you might be another stephenie meyer who claims that the twilight saga came out of a dream..and look now....it's a phenomenon!you might be able to do it..good luck!..again..it's just a suggestion but who knows what it could do to you?

Hi elicBxn
I get these kinds of dreams all the time...and you're right most of the time they are versions of movies or books that I've recently read or am reading at that time. I guess its more to do with your sense of being in control of a story which your mind directs in your dreams...or if I can add interpretation of the story which you are already reading...
enjoy...
