How many times a day do you shower?

I personally shower twice a day (if i'm heading out). Once before i head out and another when i come back.
ON days where i'd be camping at home, i'd take my shower in the evenings.
What about you?
I have friends who simply bathe once a day regardless they stay at home or head out. In their point of view, they are bound to get dirty once they step out of the house so why is there a need to shower?
But won't you want to wash away the "sleeping" smell, especially in the mornings when you're off to work? Won't you want to smell nice?

Hi regal, this mostly depends on the weather of the days. If it is a hot sunny day definitely I would like to take more than twice in a day for our body would get sweaty easily. I live in a tropical country where the weather here is hot all year round, so almost everyone here would take shower twice daily. One is in the morning and the other in evening. I will take another before going to bed if I’m sweaty. Only the older people prefer to take a warm water shower in the morning.
I usually would take a cold shower before go to work or go out. I feel uncomfortable and scare that the sticky skin and hair would give a disgusting smell, if just put on the clean clothes without taking any shower.
posting and Merry Christmas!

with my health condition, i now normally take a warm bath rather than the tapwater kind. so, in your words, i belong to the group of the older people. you are right about that, ikbooi. at present, i am way above my fifties. that's how we are because the cold will get into our veins and the nerves. of course, you know what i mean, right dear friend?

Oh no trinidadvelasco, above fifties is still considered to be very young. Well, you are very good in taking care of your health. It’s great! I don’t know the cold would affect our health if taking cold water bath. However, the guru who taught me meditation years back, advised me to avoid to take warm water bath unless during severe cold day. I always follow his words and take cold shower all the time. I would feel uncomfortable and uneasy after cleaning my body under the warm water shower. I scare that my back bone would feel pain after cleaning with the hot water.
Here the old people I mention refer to some of my neighbors and relatives as I know them very well. The couple who lives on the left side of my house is of the same age of 78. The lady who stays alone opposite is 79, whereas the woman in the right side of my house is 84. My sister in law’s mom is also in her eighties.
All of them will never take any cold water shower even during hot sunny day. They shower only once daily, or in every other day. They wipe their body with warm water towel to keep clean during cold rainy day instead of taking shower. They even avoid having such cleaning after the morning.
posting and take care.

i think that twice a day is the best..one in the morning after you wake up and another before you retire to bed...i live in a tropical country...it is fine if i take a bath 3 times because it is really very humid...and i think that if you take a bath regularly you will smell nice..better than spraying yourself with perfume or cologne...a clean natural smell is the best.

I shower once at the end of my day. I see no point in showering twice unless I've been working all day and I smell bad and I feel dirty. I think it's just a waste of water. As long as I'm taking care of myself and my hygiene I see nothing wrong with showering once a day.

I usually only go once a day. I do go more than once if necessary to freshen up. I do agree that since I work evenings that I will wait to take my shower a lil while before I leave for work. I try to get in the shower daily but if I have no where to go I don't mind skipping a day so long as I don't think I'm stinky or anything as that will drive me batty and I'd have to take a shower.

It depends upon the weather basically. At summer seasons I bath nearly 3-4 times in a day whereas in Winter seasons, bathing one time is more than enough for me as I dont want to get myself unwell.

I guess I take a shower once per day, I feel that this is adequate in my case! I don't see the point in taking more than one shower per day unless you have been exercising and so forth. I like to think that I am fresh and clean before I go out anywhere! Andrew

I normally take one shower a day. If I was very active, or if I did something to get dirty, I will take another one. I also enjoy baths sometimes. I normally take my showers in the morning because I like to feel really clean when I start the day. I will not even leave the house before taking a shower, because I just do not feel clean enough. I guess that it is just a personal preference, but for me, I have to shower everyday.
I think everyone should take a shower before coming to work. I think that it is just a courtesy for everyone who has to work around them. Personally, I just like to smell nice lol.

Hmm...thats a nice question. I guess it really depends how the climate of your country. My country is humid and hot, to shower about twice a day would be consider normal. I have knew people on my country who shower 3 times or mre a day. Lol. While I was in China, the weather was so cold that people might shower just once every two days. Lol..but not me. Guess that I'm too used to shower at least one per day..just couldnt stand to not shower even if the weather is cold.

OH another of the "try to make me feel guilty because I do not shower every day." That is why I do not like these types of discussions. Here in Manitoba it is quite cold during the winter and if one showers every day, that also means one has to have seven, yes seven changes of clothes, not just the underpants, but also the bra and the top, slacks, or blouse and skirt, or dress every day. So it is not just making me smell nice (I do not perspire that much) but the cost. I do not have $700 extra to spend on five more outfits. So I will stick to a bath twice a week.
In the summer, I will bathe more often, but when your bathroom does not have a window to the outside, you have all this dampness and it is not that pleasant.

normally, i take a shower once a day. i only wash up in the evenings then brush my teeth before going to bed.
it is true that i feel some kind of ashame to be going out in the morning headed for anything/any place without having taken a shower or a good bath, because i feel awful. there is that kind of fear that i might smell awk without me noticing it at all. once i have been away from home, i won't take a shower or bathe anymore. it is bad for my health. i would feel sick if i do this. then, i would require the services of a therapist.

Hello!
I bath only once a day. When I'm not on vacation, I have to study in the morning and in the afternoon, which means I can only shower at 5 a.m. and then when I come back. But when I come back, I feel like there is no use in bathing at night since I'm going to wake up and go straight to the shower. Then I sleep the way I get home, and bath in the next morning. I'm on vacation right now, and I still bath once a day. I will bath twice if I'm going out, because I don't like to go out without bathing. By going out I mean if I am going to meet someone that I know. Going to the bakery or to the store, things like that does not count.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

A "sleeping" smell? I can't imagine smelling bad after a night's sleep unless you slept in a dirty place or had a wild time. LOL One shower a day is enough for me, unless I've been gardening or its really hot.
