Poster doesn't matter if you enjoy the book. You might enjoy reading even standing in a train!!! But if your eyes hurt and you don't get any satisfaction out of reading discontinue it. I personally read in whatever ambiance, time or poster it suits me. Books fill up a gap in my life and help me building up my thought process. Though I shouldn't do so, but I don't care about anything while reading if and only if the book provides me some matter to think upon and if its a page turner and truly after completing such books I regret that its finished and want even more

I've heard that advice from my own mother over and over. Unfortunately, I don't really listen much to her advice..LOL..
My favorite position when reading is in bed. I will be laying down, my head prop with some pillow, and will be reading until the wee hours of the morning. Although, I can pretty much read in any position, for me that is the most comfortable position. I cannot read for long while sitting up. As time progresses, I will be slouching, or if i'm on the couch, I will be laying down.
Oh, well...I guess..I'm just a disobedient little girl..LOL..

I generally read sitting, but reading while lying down are not uncommon. Yeah, I have also heard elders say that reading while lying down is not good for the eyes as is reading while traveling.

No it does not give me headaches. But the problem is I cannot travel without doing anything. Some times I continue my prayers. Otherwise I carry enough material on board to read all through.

I have been taught to read while sitting down with the back straight up and the shoulders not slumped. I have grown accustomed and comfortable in this position that up to now it is still my favourite position. Maybe the talk about reading position and the eyes is true. I still do not require the aid of reading glasses even though I am fast approaching 50.
all the best,

I usually read my course books sitting on my chair. I am able to concentrate that way but when I am reading some novel or magazine at that time I lie down and read it. Though it really is harmful to eyes but I feel relaxed that way.
