I have lived a life when there was no internet,no cell phones,no television and am living in this era.I remember people were friendlier and much more humane than now.Agreed that life was not that tough then and people were not that self centered. But i find so amny things mechanical even few relations?Do you think that in the last two decades, the moral values in general have down? Please share.

I guess its true that we are becoming more mechanical..but the moral values are not degrading due to advancements only..Its due to joint lack of responsibility of the society towards future generations also...With more pace and competition we are becoming less humane but we can't complain about that really..We need to be like that a little bit to survive but loving and caring family can ensure that we degrae a little slowly...Have a nice day!

This is very difficult to answer on a general level. However, if I just speak for myself, I find I can do more, learn more and fast, and reach out to more people and fast with the new technologies. It's also the same with my friends. Our capacities have been enhanced.

They have gone down or have been redefined to suit the convenience. It's probably got to do with the increased dominance of wealth, greed and power. Self centredness and the survival of the fittest attitude. And it is this deterioration in the values that is rapidly taking us towards self extermination.

I too lived in that period when we had no tv, no phones, no fridge and only the old fashioned radio. Life was not easy at that time but it was less complicated. Since there was no tv people had more time for each other. I remember that when i was young my house used to be flooded with relations and our family friends constantly visiting us and even staying with us. The atmosphere was more friendly and warm.Moral values were high because outside influences were very few and there were less distractions.
Today moral values have gone down, people are too busy making money or struggling for survival. The advent of tv , computers and the internet have made the world a much smaller place and we come to know what is going on in the world in an instant.Of course there is a lot of good but it has also brought the bad things right into our living rooms. Today you will find small children knowing things which we never knew both good and bad.Children have become more brash, bold and hard to control.Nowadays every one is too busy leading their own lives and they have no time for each other. We hardly get to see our relations and even friends do not keep in touch as they used to do in the olden days. The quality of life has deteriorated and it has become fast paced. Time literally flies and years are passing by even faster.Everything is going downhill as we can see from the global economic situation at present.I only hope that we do not come to such a state when people will have no recourse to take their own lives in desperation. It is indeed a frightening scenario and no one can tell what the future holds for mankind.

Life was tough before internet and cell phones, but it was tough in its own way. We always look back and think that we liked living better in the past than in the present but if you had a recording of your life back then you would see that it wasn't the good old days after all.
It is true that people were friendlier then and more willing to lend a hand and it would be nice if people were like that today. However, today if you are friendly to a stranger or if you extend a helping hand you are just as likely to get your hand chopped off.
Moral values have indeed gone down in the last two decades. You can tell that by what they are showing on TV. You can see things on prime time TV now that would have been censored twenty years ago.
