I agree with you.
I think Liverpool will win the match against Newcastle and begin the year on top of the tables, but I don?t think they will win the Premiership. Actually, I'm not saying they will win the title, but I can't say for sure that they won't win either. It's a tight fight in 3, maybe 4 for the title this season.

Yes, Liverpool looks in line to finish on top at the end of the year. But for the title it seems to be a tossup now between Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool. The key for Man U is that three of the chasing pack have yet to visit them at home.
Cheers!

speaking of the next game of liverpool and newcastle, i'm a newcastle fan and i hope newcastle win the match against liverpool.. i really hope.. i really upset this week with the poor decisions from the referre.. a penalty and red card on a counter attack while we desperately attacking sure made the morale drop down to zero. and the brute tackle from wigan player caused fatal injury to habib beye only punished by yellow card..
oh my.. i'm sorry i go a bit out of topic here :P

There's nothing to apologize for, zamakh!
I think it's only natural to hope your team will win, especially that Newcastle are not in their best year... As a Man Utd fan, I hope Newcastle wins too, but Liverpool is not just an usual opponent, they are one of the best teams in the league, and if Newcastle wins or draws, I think you should be very happy - that will be a sign that Newcastle is coming to their senses.

I do think that Liverpool would be on top. However Manchester Utd have some matches at hand that they still need to play. Manchester Utd seems a strong team and I would not be surprised if they win the league again.

I think Liverpool is going through good time and are currently are on the top of the list and would rather be at the top on this new year but as far as the champioship is concerned, I still want Manchester United to win it as they are my favorite club.

i think liverpool cos they have the easier matches and their next game is against newcastle whom they always played well and managed to win away. so i think liverpool would be able to hold on to their 1 point advantage over chelsea at the moment. Chelsea would play away to fulham and that itself should also not be too difficult for them to get a win as fulham is not strong this year. Man united should also win at home to middlesbrough and the standing in the league would remain unchanged till new year

liverpool will topping the english premier league on 2nd Jan 2009 ( i think you intend to write 2009 there, but yet 2008 appear.. :P) but not steady enough to win the throphy.. manchester have more consistent performance so do chealsea.. and arsenal isn't steady enough to win this season.. that's my opinion.. :D

Chelsea will be on the top of EPL on 2nd Jan 2009. My prediction is that Liverpool will be beaten at the St James, Chelsea will draw with Fulham. Since Chelsea has best goal difference, they will top of the league. Other teams performance will not affect the top. My reason is that Newcastle having a good run while Liverpool is struggling to score goal and defensively. Chelsea have better away record, in fact, they have not lost in away matches.

I think Chealsea will be top..have a funny feeling Man U will drop a few points and liverpool will finally lose and will be leapfrogged by Chelsea
As for the Gunners, I just dont know whats happening..good news is though that it couldnt get worse..or could it??

Yes, with the injured returning back, Chelsea does look strong, but Man U look very determined. Two victories with the goals after 80 minutes shows their title credentials. Yes, though Liverpool continues to stay top, somehow they do not seem to be building confidence... Let's not even talk about Arsenal this season...
Cheers!

Even though I really can't stand Liverpool and Chelsea I have to be realistic and say that Liverpool will be on top, they have a weak opponent so... But I hope ManU won't drop any points and that they will start going up after new years eve.
